This is my thinking really. He had suitors last year and presumably we can command say £5 million for him upfront. He might not even be any good in English football, you never know. Ndiaye is raw but has shown he can play at this level. It gives us money and a profit on a player we've never seen.I’d rather sell players like him, Lowe & Burke than lose Egan, NDiaye, Berge. I don’t think there’s any hope in keeping Berge & Egan though, they’ll want to play premiership football for their own careers
I have no idea whether to sell him or keep him as I've never seen him play. How supporters who have never seen him play have an opinion I don't know, unless he's valued at say a couple of million and somebody is offering a lot more then fair enough.
If you give him confidence and a warm environment I think he will be a top player. I was happy to read that your manager doesn’t rate him because I still hope he will play another season for us but from your point of view I think he can do a job for you and is better than some of your current midfield players. But confidence is a big thing. In his first years he only had positive comments and I think now for the first time in his career he comes out of a bad period with external circumstances (in a poor team losing each week and injuries). So it’s logic he won’t show his best version during a training test.PurpleRain has seen him play at Beerschot.
If he stayed another year with you then he wouldn’t qualify for a work permit for us further down the lineIf you give him confidence and a warm environment I think he will be a top player. I would be suprised if Egan went into the Prem or had many suitors. He loses his footing very often and looks extremely ragged against pace or the ball over the top. He doesn't score enough and is only managing to average 6/10 performances for us in the championship. Maybe Burnley would look at him when Tarkowski leaves but there arent many obvious destinations for him.I’d rather sell players like him, Lowe & Burke than lose Egan, NDiaye, Berge. It's a no brained to bring him back for preseason training we have to have a look at him.If he stayed another year with you then he wouldn’t qualify for a work permit for us further down the line
Given we’re likely to have to prioritise our resources this summer and we need bodies how would you view him as a player to primarily start as someone on the bench getting 10 minutes to end games and the odd rotational start effectively the role Hourihane occupied towards the end of the year.I'm probably 50/50 on him now.
Appreciate he might have shown some skills in season one.
My concern is that he has to:
1. Get over his injury.
2. Acclimatise to a brand new country.
3. Regain his form and confidence.
I do think he is different but I wasn't watching Beerschot to say if he would be more effective. He isn't going to displace Norwood as a play maker based on what I've seen. Not sure he has the defensive and tactical awareness of Fleck either. He was half asleep on a couple of goals late in the season where he should have tracked his man or defended better. But it looks like he can get about the pitch better and perhaps be more of a goal threat.
But if the other signings are ready made, for example Josh Laurent of Reading, who has athleticism and has played at this level already then perhaps we'll have time to bed him in.
It feels now or never with him though. As soon as he steps on the field in 1B, he's useless to the Blades due to his Visa. I'm doubtful as to how much his value will appreciate either, in 1B.
I suppose it depends who has an interest in him and what they might pay. Also depends how well he is recovered from his injury. It's a gamble to bring him in to immediately rely on him, I'd say. Management might just decide there are too many variables.
6/10? Maybe under Slav as a two & possibly in the odd game with Hecky (Reading & Coventry away spring to mind) but he’s been one of the main reasons we had the clean sheet record we did in the second half of the season. Keep him & it’s a big reason why we go upI would be suprised if Egan went into the Prem or had many suitors. PurpleRain has seen him play at Beerschot.
But he’s not the only one with an opinion. He has seen him play and has provided first hand experience of that. The post you attempted to ridicule clearly related to the majority of those passing an opinion based on next to nothing that’s relevant.

Sorry I only just saw your question.Given we’re likely to have to prioritise our resources this summer and we need bodies how would you view him as a player to primarily start as someone on the bench getting 10 minutes to end games and the odd rotational start effectively the role Hourihane occupied towards the end of the year.
I’m aware he won’t have the dead ball or technical ability of Hourihane but could he work as a change of pace option or someone to add energy and combativeness to close out games?
Agree that he has his limitations but I'm staggered by the 6/10 comment. At times last season, he held that defence together despite being hamstrung by Jokanovic for the first three months. He covered the lapses of Davies/Robinson and, once Basham regained his place, looked as strong as ever. Remember he was a key component of that 9th placed PL finish when we were strong as a rock defensively. Whilst MGW was player of the season and Wes was a revelation, Egan for me was the best of the rest for me. He needs to play in a three rather than a four though. It'll probably never happen again but if we could get a fully-fit and fully-firing Basham, Egan and O'Connell back three again, we would walk this league.I would be suprised if Egan went into the Prem or had many suitors. He loses his footing very often and looks extremely ragged against pace or the ball over the top. He doesn't score enough and is only managing to average 6/10 performances for us in the championship. Sell without even seeing him play?Sell or recall time for the lad. Last chance to potentially get a permit for him. I'd sell, personally, with large clauses attached.
I'm sure some at the club have seen him play plus he trained with us recently.Sell without even seeing him play?
Do you really think we haven't watched him play many times?Sell without even seeing him play?
