Sander has been (rightfully) criticised at times for not using his size effectively, avoiding headers and generally being a bit "nesh", but there's been a huge improvement this season and in particular the last couple of months. I imagine this has been worked on in training but it has had a huge impact on his confidence and he's been brilliant to watch.
The move to the number 10 role combined with him realising he can push most opposition players away with his little finger has resulted in 5 of his 6 goals being in the 6 yard box, including 2 headers.
Versus Preston 10 yards

Versus Middlesbrough 2 yards

Versus Coventry 4 yards

Versus Barnsley 3 yards

Versus Fulham 6 yards

Versus Forest 4 yards

An average of under 5 yards per goal! He said in a recent interview he was used to his holding midfield role and hanging around for 20 yarders but I think he's found his position as a 10 and should never move back.
If we lose MGW we HAVE to keep Sander. Although MGW is our best attacking player I feel we'll be alright with a front 3 of Sander, Ndiaye and Brewster with a few decent additions behind them. Obviously this depends on the league but in an ideal world we'll get to see more of the MGW/Ndiaye/Berge combo which personally I think rivals the Duffy/Fleck/Coutts trio.. Speaking of Duffy, Berge could do a lot worse than to study his game and be the long overdue replacement.
