Sander has been (rightfully) criticised at times for not using his size effectively, avoiding headers and generally being a bit "nesh", but there's been a huge improvement this season and in particular the last couple of months. I imagine this has been worked on in training but it has had a huge impact on his confidence and he's been brilliant to watch.

The move to the number 10 role combined with him realising he can push most opposition players away with his little finger has resulted in 5 of his 6 goals being in the 6 yard box, including 2 headers.

Versus Preston 10 yards

Versus Middlesbrough 2 yards

Versus Coventry 4 yards

An average of under 5 yards per goal! He said in a recent interview he was used to his holding midfield role and hanging around for 20 yarders but I think he's found his position as a 10 and should never move back.

If we lose MGW we HAVE to keep Sander. Although MGW is our best attacking player I feel we'll be alright with a front 3 of Sander, Ndiaye and Brewster with a few decent additions behind them. Obviously this depends on the league but in an ideal world we'll get to see more of the MGW/Ndiaye/Berge combo which personally I think rivals the Duffy/Fleck/Coutts trio.. Speaking of Duffy, Berge could do a lot worse than to study his game and be the long overdue replacement.

He’s a weird one as for his height his heading ability is generally poor. He doesn’t seem to attack the ball like Billy/ Egan/ Robbo/ JOC. However, he does seem to have improved in getting into the right positions and gets goals now.

You’re right about his dribbling. He seems to drift past players with ease but then seems to often lose the ball after he’s got past a player when they stick out a leg.

He’s looking much more comfortable in that no 10 role and makes us tick when he has the ball. He’s growing into it

I'd be surprised if he's still here next season, pretty sure he'll be pushing his agent hard to find him a move out.

Credit for the goal but he dint turn up for a game yesterday like he has been doing,

To be fair neither did most of them. Thank fuck at least Wes did. I saw Berg have one or two of his runs in to the box and they were relatively successful. Forest's defence isn't all that and we got through a few times but with our lack of end product it meant piss all.

Sadly I have to agree. Clearly a quality player who should be playing higher. Why he didn't go last summer remains to be seen but credit to him for staying I suppose.

Unless nobody was bothered.

That 10 minute spell from 55-65 minutes we hammered em. They didn't touch the ball meaningly at all.

But what did we really create? Nothing. That's the frustrating part. All the gear and no idea.

We seemed to want £35m for him. Could be wrong, but I think Arsenal offered £17m and we declined. I don't think we'd turn that down now.

I don't think we could. He'd want to go. Awesome player when he wants to be. A team of quality around him would make him even better.

Wouldn't surprise me if Fulham came in with a stupid bid for him. Be a shame, as he is finally looking like the player we thought we bought.

The run he had though in front of goal when we were all thinking SHOOOOOOOOOOOOTT he could have done so 3/4 times but instead played a meaningless pass to the right.

We do need to keep him as I reckon next season whatever league we are in he will come into his own. Dont forget we know Wilder said he had release clauses in his contract thats how we got him for the money so we may lose him still. Who knows what they are.

Could not agree more with this assessment. (Don't get big headed though as I'm a useless footballer and know nowt) 🤣🤣

I'm intrigued to see how his career plays out. As you say, he has all of the tools but it's about using them over a full 90 minutes consistently. He does still drift out of games.

Seems a really good kid though and will go with well wishes. Such a shame he got that injury, I think we could have had a way better version of Berge by now.
