Last 3 games you would be forgiven for thinking the oppo's brown paper bags are bigger than ours.
We get kicked around all game and rarely get free kicks.
All opposition players have to do is fall down with minimal or no contact and they get a free kick after free kick every flipping time. It's getting on my tits now.
I conclude we need bigger brown paper bags.

Are they just bad or actually bent? I can't decide.
Referees in England are just not very good. They get worse the lower the level of football. Simple as that really.

I’m still in shock that a referee and a linesman managed to give a penalty when we played Bournemouth at their place and not a red card.

It was a blatant red fully four yards outside the box.

The one tonight wanted to be the star of the show. You could tell that even from before the game with his stupid preening warm up where he kept trying to sprint through the middle of the players warm up area. I can also guarantee that none of them have ever played football with any success. Failures one and all and its about time they started getting called out for not even knowing the basics or even getting a reasonable proportion of decisions correct.

Another poor referee tonight. He had me out of my seat a few times, and not in a good way. All about him wasn't it?

Add to that the lino on the John Street, who just guessed. I reckon he got at least 4 offsides wrong, and it was nearly the holy trinity of inept officials.

Shame we got mugged at the end, but on balance a draw was about right. Injuries are costing us dear, when other clubs manufactured, ahem, COVID mid season breaks. About time we used our joker and had one as well.

Bent,
Everybody knows this, but you know United, they won't pay over the odds, whether that's for a player or a ref.

Some of these refs agents, they're just twats

Or is it the case that some only see the questionable decisions that go in favour of the opposition , whilst ignoring the ones that go in ours ?

By far the worst decision by tonight’s ref was that of not giving a penalty when Seriki almost pulled their player’s shirt off when three yards from goal and in his clear sight . If that had happened to Billy Sharp it would have led to a meltdown on here .

“It was all the ref’s fault “ has always been a mantra churned out by fans of the Grunters as an excuse for their own shortcomings and I find it disappointing that it is being used more and more on here in an attempt to disguise our own .

Swings and roundabouts is the expression and so far this season , I don’t think we’ve done too badly .

The ref was rubbish but if actually had players who could run and chase back and stay on their feet rather than cynically shop people down (RND, Fleck, Norwood, Egan guilty most weeks) then we might not get so many fouls given against us or bookings.

A lot of fans of opponents recently have been saying we are dirty and we are routinely getting 4 to 5 bookings every game to 1 or 2 of the opponents. Refs have been poor but we have a team full of slow and weak players who struggle with the physicality of keeping up with opponents.

Some of the refs are awful.
Always been the way though tbf.
Penalty was a dive. Shirt pull should have been a penalty.

Also we're a tough tackling team when we're at our best, which can lead to iffy ref opinions/decisions.

EDIT: Another shit ref though.

Do we pay them enough
the most recent refs at bdtbl did not deserve to be paid anything at all.

obviously never played the game
no communication with linesmen who were in better positions
no idea of man management

surely Ex pro players should be fast tracked to become referees

Four bookings tonight. The ones that annoy me are the avoidable, stupid ones eg Robinson for kicking the ball away when the ref gave the pen. No yellow for RND at that point, just as well as he got one for his later challenge on Spence, which would have meant red if he’d got a yellow for the pen.

McBurnie’s was also a bit pointless, trying to waste time a and arguing about where the free kick should be taken from, then looking shocked to be penalised, protesting his innocence.

Ben Davies was a bit unlucky with his I felt. I thought it was a free kick to us, Keinan Davis seemed to do most of the pulling.

To your point about midfielders struggling to cope, Norwood’s had 8 yellows this season, from memory, most of those have been desperate “take one for the team” type lunges, he’s not exactly Roy Keane in the tackle is he? 🙂

To accuse the referee of being bent would be ridiculous.........but then you look at that game and maybe start to wonder if there are outside influences at work. Worrall commited at least half a dozen cynical fouls, did he get booked? No, not even censured by the referee. Spence blatantly stepped in front of Norrington Davis and fell down, the referee has a clear view and gives a penalty, and to add insult to injury books Robinson. Davis got fouled for us, he got booked and a free kick was given to Forest, sorry but that was wrong on so many counts you can't help but wonder what's going on.

Second half Spence is going nowhere and takes a blatant dive by the corner flag, does he get penalised? Course not, he's allowed to trot away and continue falling down for the rest of the game.

On and on it went, they got every 'foul' going, we didn't. That was more than incompetent, it looked shady to me.

The sky commentary was very pro Forest
The BBC stats show it was very even possession wise and we had more on target shots. Which is the idea
I thought it was a draw in every respect last night
They got away with a lot of falling down and should have had an equal foul count but the ref dismissed a lot

BLINKERS ON

He wasn't great tonight but there are a lot of out fans who need glasses.

Ignoring the blarant evidence in front of them because it doesn't match their agenda.

In the last few, we’ve seen some great examples of losing control or never having control of the game. It’s possible to be poor yet still have control.

Well said that man, that non penalty award is as bad a decision as you'll see.

You're not wrong but weren't we top of the fair play league until quite recently?

Their agenda being what? Wanting their team to win? I can't wait for the days when we politely applaud the referee when he's given a free kick against us. Perhaps we should applaud the opposition when they score. That would be nice.

Regardless of whether you think it’s a penalty or not (the one given) the camera angle behind the goal clearly shows the referees view of the ‘foul’ obstructed by Norwood. He’s desperately trying to see round him but Spence is already going down when he comes into view. He’s totally guessed it. The standard of officiating is plummeting alarmingly. There needs to be an almighty shake up with far more ex pros taking charge.
