He doesn't look like scoring as he doesn't make off ball runs into the box and doesn't try to make things happen for himself.
 
They have one player.........he's a lump - but he always seems o score against us! They have one one more good player who we should have signed from them (Jed)..........Blades v Millwall..........over! (lesson to self............mark fucking Jake Cooper.............or sign him!)
 
He’s fuckin shit but in fairness they had no service today. Hecky thinks he’s Pep fucking about with the team too much we are not good enough to do that. Hourihane is wank, Norrington Davis not good enough, Norwood was laughing when he misplaced one of his passes. I would quite honestly chin the cunt if I played with him. We looked clueless all the game until surprise surprise the guy that was arguably MOTM on Wednesday came on we looked decent for 10 minutes. It’s not rocket Hecky stop fucking about with the team - this defeat is down to you.

Every time I see Mcburnie in the starting line up I lower my expectations of getting owt from the game.
I‘m struggling to remember seeing such slow reactions and lack of skill in a Blades forward.

I think the hold up play if you can call it that is hoodwinking certain folk into thinking he plays well and is a good player. What he does is the very basics of football and I mean the very basics, someone will play a short ball into his feet, he will control and give a short pass back, some call it hold up play but I don’t because you cannot fire a ball into him when he’s under pressure because it just bounces off him or he gives it away. When he is under no pressure he can control the short ball and give it back. That’s it that’s his game, he literally offers nothing whatsoever other than that, he actually breaks our play up, slows it down. Close your eyes and point to any team in League 2 table, then see who their number 9 is, guaranteed that player will be able to do the very basic play that McBurnie does, but you can also be guaranteed that player is not good enough for our side the same as McB.
 
No point going in on one player when it was all so beige as a performance.

But I will say this - McBurnie and Sharp as a pair simply does not work.

It never has.

It's just far too laboured.

Pick one. If you want to rest Billy then fine, but get others in there who provide pace and movement.

Not because he's a fan fave to an extent but play Jebbison because he can at least provide pace and movement.
 
Defend McBurnie all you like- but fact is he isn't a very good footballer. Plodding about- never gets across his man, never gets the ball drops his shoulder beats a man and whoosh a shot. Never gets off the ground to win a header- offers nothing in an attacking sense.

He plays we are total shit; I really dont see anything you can say in his defense- his player rating today was 4 at best - get real the quality is more League 2 than Prem..

Feel for the players a bit today. The schedule is packed and we looked a team that was patched up and low on energy, understandable given the effort put into Wednesday evening.

Too many not at the races - Hourihane, Norwood, Ndiaye, RND, Sharp and McB offered next to nothing and you don't get away with that many off the pace at this level. We looked happy to take a point and that's such a dangerous mindset to go out with.

We looked much livelier when Berge and MGW were introduced but we can't run them into the ground. Disappointed not to see Jebbison given the last 15-20 mins to inject some pace.

Think we may well have a few more bumps in the road like this given injuries and suspensions which means we will undoubtedly have to settle for the POs at best.
 
Mcburnie wears the famous red and white shirt and if I thought he didn't care about wearing it then I would be the 1st person to complain but the lad tries his bollocks off and has the teams best interests at heart lets stop making him the escape goat. We were poor as a team let's just all calm down

No it doesn’t , I agree he’s not the best but he’s the easy target for some of our fans … even if the rest are crap as well !

Must admit I hate the fact that we made 4 changes. It's too many.

But then you just have to accept a few facts:

1. Gordon was enforced.
2. Berge is still coming back from injury and played in a league that has 34 league games tops and one cup competition.
3. Fleck is also coming back from injury and it's a toss up between him and Hourihane anyway.
4. Gibbs-White is also coming back from injury.

It's a shit feeling when you are lackluster and lose, but you are better to lose v Millwall and beat Boro than the other way around given the double jeopardy nature of the game.

It's just regrettable that a set of twats like Bournemouth should get away with another one they should have lost.
 
We aint going to win them all and there will be the occasional loss (hopefully not too many) but McBurnie and Sharp are too similar. It seems to have worked in recent weeks with one striker up top with two of MGW, Berge and N'Diyi playing into the lone forward. I'd go back to that if I was Hecky, however if he is going to play two up top it has to be Jebbison with Sharp or McBurnie imo
