Obvious thing is to play Davies at RCB. But that does make him a bit of a square peg to a bit of an extent

I wonder if we would consider 4-2-3-1?

Foderingham
Baldock Egan Robinson Norrington-Davies
Norwood Hourihane
Berge Gibbs-White N'Diaye
Sharp

It would keep Sander in a spot where he's doing well and add N'Diaye to the mix. With that 3, having two playmakers a bit deeper might work.

Doesn't have Fleck starting 2 games in a week either.

I like the 3 at the back but I'd rather a potential match winner in N'Diaye vs someone played out of position.
4 at the back? Have you not learnt anything from the last 17 matches?

The formation can’t and won’t change. Davies playing at RCB isn’t a big deal, as we don’t depend on the cbs going forward as we did under Wilder. Especially away from home

No. We cant change formation. We are where are at the moment because of the formation we’re playing.

Not bad but I'd have Flatulence at LWB and Amiable upfront in place of Grim.

These posts were quite amusing when they first started , now it's a bit like sex with the wife, boring and repetitive , and her thinking of McBurnie
So she doesn't think of me then, right that's it someone else can make her scream Bobby Moore

Never ever play MGW and Ndiaye together. It worked ok on the odd occasion under Slav.

Don't think it works at all under Hecky.

Davies prefers his left, but is pretty two footed, should be comfortable at RCB. Although we will be short a physical presence again.

First and foremost, I agree with the points higher up that we play better 3 at the back with the first choice personnel but we are getting dragged away from that more and more with 4 first choice defenders out and part of the reason to move to 3 is that you accommodate one of our better performers in Bash, who is now out. Norrington-Davies, Robinson, Davies, Baldock have all played more in a back 4 in their careers than a back 3 or 5.

At some point it isn't the work of the devil
Max (TM Max and Paddy) having a plan B. And we shouldn't just assume that in a different formation the team would perform as impotently as under Slav; there's a lot more confidence and spirit there now and where there wasn't before not to mention less confusion.

I think it's easy to draw the wrong conclusion though from the Slav era.

Slav had us playing the slow, ponderous shite that Swansea were recently peddling; we don't play this way at all now. So to say we can't play 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 because it didn't work under Slav I think is seeing something not work overall and then assuming everything associated with it doesn't and can't work.

It's a bit like saying Russia has more troops and defending their country isn't working for Ukraine therefore you should never try to defend your country (whilst totally discounting the troops bit).

One of the few successes under Slav early season was the obvious chemistry and enjoyment N'Diaye and Gibbs-White had playing together. Given the latter's injury, I don't think they have played much together under Hecky.

For what it's worth, I think he will just play Davies at RCB and overlapping isn't a dedicated feature that it was under Chris so we'll be ok.

But if we get another knock in defence before Goode returns? You're then moving Baldock to RCB potentially and untried Seriki to RWB over bringing a potential match winner in N'Diaye into the XI.

I get the hang up on the formation because a formation excluding the best of Bash wasn't the way to go. But, and I get the whole being better than sum of its parts argument, you ideally have your best XI on the field at once where you can.

HMS Hecky continues god knows how we pulled that off on Wednesday night felt like a game in the wilder promotion season 😮

Some tough selections for Hecky this weekend

—In goal champions league Wes—-

Baldock—B Davies—Egan—JLT—RND

——-Norwood——Hourihane——

——Berge————-Ndiaye——-

————-Mcburnie————

I’d bring Ben Davies in for Charlie not very gooode

I’d also drop fleck as we fit dominated vs Blackburn and fleck was poor once again we just don’t know whether it’s gonna be Jimmy or John from week to week 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I’d also drop MGW , he was awful vs Blackburn didn’t track back at all and was very innefective Ndiaye starts for me although may be being harsh

Mcburnie should only be brought on for his defensive headers.

Scarlet will no doubt be pinging it to the wingbacks with no purpose again - as always
