Awful.

To me its not just the thought of a Wembley final but the chance to put some wins of any sort together and to get on a roll like Charlton have done. Also to get out of this awful habit of throwing away leads. Last night was just shocking and as mentioned erlier I think we are in this league for a long time

Doyle's stamp

Will the FA have a look at it? Was it definitely deliberate? Being on a football pitch certainly doesn't legitimate trying to break someone's leg.

By the way, well done to Bradford's left back who didn't make a meal out of Parrino's tackle, just got up and got on with it. Though it's kind of sad that you notice when players don't roll around pretending to be injured.

didnt think it was deliberate , he was in mid air and trying to calculate where the bradfords players would come to rest,, was unfortunate enough to land on one , but no weight was thrown behind it

the commentator on sky is always doing us down hes a nob
when Evans was bundled over when they equalised didnt say it was probably a foul but jumped to say this was deliberate

Why are the players so unfit anyway? I play football each week and do well with stamina and I'm not a professioanal footballer. Surely they need to be looking after themselves better?

Simonsen - 7/10
Did everything that was asked of him. Couple of good saves.

Parrino - 3/10
Liked the look of him last season. Looked well off the pace last night.

Maguire - 5/10
Big, strong but slow. He and Collins let the forwards get in between them too often.

Collins - 5/10
Similar to Maguire but perhaps more alert. Awful distribution.

Williams - 4/10
Not tight enough to his man. Has got worse in the last few games.

Phillips - 7/10
Along with Clarke, our only real threat going forward. Quality player.

McDonald - 5.5/10
Looks good in possession but is not strong enough for such a big lad. Needs to work on that.

Doyle - 4/10
Totally anonymous at times and offers nothing going forward. No room for that stamp at the end!

Clarke - 7.5/10
Always lively, keeps his marker guessing. I like his close control and versatility.

Porter - 5/10
Shows good strength and links up play at times but drifts out of games. Doesnt do enough.

Evans - 3.5/10
Doesnt work hard enough, drifts wide too often. I would sooner see Cresswell alongside Porter.

Some incredibly generous marks there. Halve the marks you gave to Maguire, McDonad & Porter and you'd be closer to the way I saw it. And let's not forget we were at home to the 91st team in the league - yet we looked no better than them - worse at times.

ok so it was an opportunity to play at wembley

in my experience though we never turn up there as a team anyway so wed have lost in the final , as usual
and come on JPT , WE WERE GOING TO GET ORGASMIC OVER THE jpt
I ll live

Not forgetting also that they made 5 changes themselves so it wasn't even their 1st choice league team. Squinny and Lowton aside, that is pretty much a team we have started with this season.

all the top 6 in div 1 have departed this competition bradfords accounted for 3 of them. including huddersfield whos not lost to a div 1 club for 42 games
Perhaps their desire is greater for tins of paint

It's not so much that it was the JPT, we've put similar performances in the Carling in recent seasons, it's just that last night pretty much summed up what has been happening for the last 6 weeks.

And that excuses the Blades' disgraceful performance does it?

God bless the Irish Sea is all i can say. If it wasn't for that stretch of water i'd have to watch that shower every week. I feel for you all, i really do. :(

I cant believe that Maguire played tonight. He is in his first full year as a pro and he has played every game. The kid needs a rest and it was a perfect time to give him one before the onslaught of the Christmas programme. MacDonald is a problem he unbalances the side because of his piss poor workrate when we havent got the ball.

From what I've seen, Monty is probably the best partner for McDonald as he'll do his running for him but he certainly doesn't look the player he was a month or so ago.

Agree about Maguire, cup game again Saturday, give Lecs a game alongside Collins. I would have suggested maybe moving Lowton into the middle with Parrino at RB but after last night, no chance.

I think we will always be limited until we break the "little and large" habit. McDonald can't tackle or run so needs a Monty to do it for him. Monty can't pass so needs a McDonald to do it for him. Surely, in England's third division, we can find a few players who can do a bit of both?

But we couldn't in the Divisions higher up, where, it's reasonable to assume, better footballers ply their trade?

I think LJF has b*ggered off to play for Haiti this weekend. What a stupid move when he could have cemented a first team place I reckon instead. Get shut.

Did we try? I think Monty's been so good at the bit of the game he's good at that we've tended to work around it. We had Britton and Dyer, who excelled at Anfield on Saturday in a side that hasn't needed an out and out anchor man. We binned Britton because he couldn't cut it. Clearly those around made him look poor.

There seems to be plenty in this division too. The idea that it's a division full off cloggers has been dispelled based on what I've seen.

Maguire looked awful last night along with many more. Why does Macdonald always look for the Beckham pass (killer long pass) that never works when a short pass would be better?
