Top performance vs the swans at the weekend and the only thing that could derail HMS Hecky at the moment is injuries and there is a big iceberg on the horizon 😨😨😨😨😨😨😨

----------In Goal Championship Wes-------

--Berge ------ Goode-----Egan--------Davies--------RND

----------Norwood--------------Hourihane ---------

-----------Ndiaye------------------MGW----------------

-------------------------Sharp--------------

If Baldock & Bash are injured then I would play Berge at RWB its not that much of a different position than RCM which he has played in and done well , you also want your best players on the ball the most and wing backs touch the ball as much as anyone plus going forward I'm not sure anyone can stop him

Id bring hourihane back to play with Norwood and Ndiaye to play with MGW

Also sharp deserves a run out so he gets his first start this season

Agree totally

Good side this - well done buddy

I'd rather see Ben Osborn as RWB than Berge. That position needs someone tireless to run up and down the line like the shuttle in a loom. It ain't Berge.
Seriki maybe?

Seriki maybe?

Why ? Berge can run perefectly fine and is actually good

Why would we play Berge at right back after his superb performance on Saturday, where we finally seemed to have figured out a position that makes him tick?

Hourihane would potentially be a better option.

Because there is no one else who can play there

Hourihane is left footed how is that a better idea 🤷‍♂️

If you look at the best Right backs they are all the best players on the ball athletic and players who can beat a man all attributes Berge has IMO

He was great Saturday but if needs must and we have no RB’s fit

If you're going to use those personnel then you'd just as well have Gibbs-White there in place of Bogle or Baldock for the same reasons you listed.

Our plan won't be to defend in a cagey game, it will be to blitzkrieg them and push them back in which case Gibbs-White would remain heavily involved.

N'Diaye can then fill in some of where Gibbs-White's absence is felt. We don't really have a like for like in midfield for Berge. I can also see Horihane coming in for Fleck who may be better served against Millwall.

This team is difficult to predict as we have no idea who is fit and those will be the most determining factors.

Much as I like youngsters coming in, I'd think we'd rather fashion a team from the experienced players with Seriki or Starbuck or Gordon on the bench rather than thrown in at the deep end in a game we could really do with winning.

Tackling , heading , speed , athleticism , awareness

He can cross and pass and beat people when he’s up the pitch

I agree we have possibly found his position and we all want him to come good and he may do

I can’t think of any attributes he had though as a wingback

Would destroy him

I’m not saying we have to now play him at right back every home but if we have no right backs he is the next best option

That’s a load of nonsense the bloke is about 6ft 5 he is fast and athletic he is probably the most aware player that we have as he has played CDM weher you’re aware of everything

Most rb nowadays are your best player on the ball look at Reece James / Trent

Berge has played RCM almost his entire time here they are very similar positions in the 3/5/2 we have played

He could play there easily and I think he would do very well

Every players should be able to tackle otherwise they wouldn’t be a professional footballer

Is he though ? Is he really

Yes. And I will stand by my opinion. He's a bit of a spectator in defence. Outside of our third he's great, and that's not a problem, but to give him an actual defensive role would be dangerous. Lad gets enough abuse as it is.

There is more ground to cover from RWB compared to RCM.

My concern is that his lack of pace would be exposed if someone gets the run on him.
