Panini asked me to plot our season against Fulham in 17/18 - the season where Fulham started fairly poorly and then went on to 88 points, 3rd place and won the Playoffs.
If they'd beaten Birmingham in their last game of the season they would have gone up in the autos ahead of Cardiff.

So here it is, and Panini is quite right - our season is very close to Fulham that year.

After 17 games Fulham had 20 points and then Game 18 was the classic 5-4 Game at Bramall Lane.
After 17 games (Blackburn Away) this season we had 19 points. Slav then drew with Coventry and won at Reading before Hecky took over.

Great stuff. I was expecting it to be close but that's unerring. The turning point is both seasons differs by only 1 game and the lines essentially converge from that point.

Fulham's last 15 brought them 11 wins, 3 draws and that last-day defeat. 36 points, or 2.4 PPG, to finish on 88.

Our 12 games under Heckingbottom have brought 27 points, or 2.25 PPG. Keeping that form up would give another 34, to finish on 84.

I think we'd all accept a final day, win-to-go-up challenge right now, which is coincidental as it's against Fulham. Who knows, it might be a good time to play them if they're already up and mentally on the beach!

Superb graph and analysis. Thank you!

Please keep this as a standalone graph, separate from your other graphs, and update after every match.

Can we keep pace with that blue line? Of course we bloody can!
