Forest media darlings

It is a good story to be fair, they were bottom of the league when Cooper took over and looked awful. He's completely turned them around, with the same players Hughton had and they are looking a real force and playing with confidence.

They are getting more attention from the media than we are because they have come from nowhere, no one expected them to be doing this well, and they are a big club which has underachieved for many years. Whereas we came down from the Premier League so were largely expected to be in the top 6, and whilst Heckingbottom has turned things around, he's only got us back up around where we always should have been with the players we have available.

Weirdly enough, I’m enjoying the Derby ‘story’ far more than Forests. The fact that they’re not bottom of the league is a miracle in itself - but to have them only 5 points from safety, after a 20 odd point deduction and a side who are a cobbled together collection of anyone who’d sign what is effectively a 6 month youth contract is mind boggling.

Rooney is doing an amazing job there both on and off the pitch. His media work has been excellent.

Edit - forgot to post my actual point… For me, Derby should be the focus of the media ‘love in’. Nobody else in the football league comes close.

Forest fans are loving life after rising from the bottom end of the league and the manager can do no wrong and is being lauded everywhere in the media … while we rise from the bottom end of the league and the manager is criticised (by some fans) and getting little attention from the media but we’re a point behind them with games in hand !

The same happens with Wednesday , Sunderland and Derby with the media and pundits gushing over them most of the time after years of failure, why is this ?

Were you in a coma when Wilder was our manager?

We had so much media attention and fawning over us from people in the football world it actually got a bit tiresome and embarrassing.

Especially the first season in the Premier League.

The incessant attention and praise from all over the football world had a negative effect on Wilder most of all.

I always thought he was a bit of an egotist and after 18 months of media sycophancy he seemed to believe he was a football genius (or a "genius at the football club" as he might put it).

From his point of view I hope 2021 brought him back to reality. It seems like it may have.

Walk quietly. Carry a big log.

A couple of years ago the press were gushing over us, even though we didn't win the league.

I don’t think Wednesday are that buttered up they’ll be favs to go up at start of this season but they’ve just come down it’s Sunderlamd everyone creams over in that league. Derby are average it’s only cus Rooney’s there.

If we go up and they don’t, I’d have Keinan Davis and James garner out of their side and into ours.

Neither are their players. Spence, the full-back who’s getting loads of hype, isn’t either.

Really? I’d say their biggest club in East Midlands but not hated me personally prefer them than Derby.

Would you not say Leicester are the biggest club in the East Mids now? Premier League and FA Cup champions in recent times, Champions League appearances etc.

Recently yeah but not as a collective no where near.

We are just starting to slightly drop away due to lack of goals and the other teams around us are still scoring and wining games, its only natural for the press to focus on them.

I mean I couldn’t care about either of them but if I had to chose.
Got to give it them, before Cloughy they were shit, and then went on to be a force which there irrating fans still bang on about, even though some of there fans never witnessed. Then after Cloughy back to being shit again😂

Not to fussed about being media darlings as long as their turning out the goods for our own support .
Media are quick to about turn when it suits

Remain a very big club Forest, despite having had a pretty abysmal 25 year spell. Only 5 seasons outside the top two divisions. Incredible what Clough and his team achieved there in a relatively small city
They are very big. Second only to us in the average attendance table.

Brewster as daft as it sounds is probably the biggest loss to us in terms of the play off chase and medial coverage. Forest are on the up, so is the fat wankers side up north, so we are playing third fiddle at the moment, probably less, because Huddersfield outplayed us for periods of the game last week and the media love that.

No one is scared of a stick these days, especially with everyone shivved up.
But who would approach someone carrying a log.
Could get messy.
You'd be hard pushed to effectively attack someone with a big log. I'd back myself with my BARE 'ANDS against an assailant with an unwieldy log. Anyway, have this as your fight song....

Agreed - he most certainly started to enjoy the smell of his own farts. Not so sure his ego has deflated to normal size yet…

When I was a kid I had a mate who couldn't help but go behind a tree and have a shit every time we were playing in the woods. One time I forgot and during a game of hide and seek, dived behind a holly bush, only to skid on my knees on a freshly laid log. I was fucking fuming so went and grabbed the bastard and rubbed his head in it.

HIs hair was fucking clogged up with it and he was boking all over the shop, begging us to rub some in our hair so he could tell his mum we'd been throwing it at each other and he wouldn't get done.

Not a chance, dirty bastard, we weren't mates for a while after that.

A short post, but several images I will never be able to shift from my mind's eye.
