On to the, possibly only positive today.

Never a doubt defensively today. Thought he was great and answered the call to arms brilliantly. Some of the passes to him were a disgrace and he managed to even keep some alive.

Moved the ball quickly and set up a couple of our best openings.

The shirt is his again, surely.

Thought he played well, but still struggled to get balls into the box without hitting his man.

He’s a full back, nearly all of our full backs are guilty of that, Stevens pre covid the only exception. That’s the price you pay when you play 5 at the back.

Hull had no attacking intent whatsoever so there’s little to judge his defensive performance on. But yes, he had a decent game.

Great work rate as always, some of his crossing and decision making was a bit off but that will improve over time. I do prefer him to baldock on the left side just because he's left footed, baldock is better all round imo but when he's on the left it limits him massively and forces him to cut inside which is probably the weakest side of his game.

He was better tonight. Still takes an extra touch going forward before having his crosses blocked. Needs to back himself more.

Yes he needs to work on his final ball but he was an outlet.

He was untroubled defensively too.

Certainly nearer the top of the pile than bottom on today's ratings.

Unlucky not to get an assist first half when the ball got stuck under the defender and Ndiaye. Good, strong running with the ball, particularly second half.

I have no problem with Osborne, good player who never seems to let us down, I thought he was going to be our regular left wing back this season

RND didn’t get round the back, neither did George, ie they didn’t do their jobs. They are wing backs not full backs.

Bash got round properly once - was offside but we scored. JLT not at all. Our system is about getting outside, pulling it back and tap-ins. We spent all night coming inside and banging our heads against a Dull wall - or lumping it high against the same wall.

We are not good enough - apart from maybe MGW and Ndiaye on a good day, to go through and certainly not big enough to go over.

Round is the way that we score our goals. Spread them wide and get behind - hmm not sure that reads too well!

Anyway - onwards and upwards!

I thought he had a good game tonight, worked hard and was a great outlet with his pace. Baldock can’t play left back because he can’t/won’t cross it with his left foot?

With a bit more experience, RND might have got Honeyman rightly sent off for that outrageous assault, instead of naively getting straight to his feet. 🤦🏻

Sorry but for all his efforts he simply doesn’t look good enough....terrible in the final third and his crossing is awful.....I also get the impression that a decent winger gives him the runaround.
Rather see Steven’s, Baldock in that position near term ...longer term, solution required!

His crossing is awful for me. Hits the full back every time. Would slot Osborn straight back in when fit, especially if Bogle is injured as we lack any semblance of delivery from either flank.

You’re not joking… and Baldock and Norwood with his terrible floaty corners … it’s actually farcical

Isn't the longer term solution playing out of his skin at Forest at the moment, while we play a player out of position?

Another good game for RND.
Got down the left well a number of times, just needs to improve his cross / pass in the final third.

Massive upgrade on Baldock playing out of position, who IMO was absolutely shocking on the right in his preferred position last night - but I’m yet to see him get any criticism

Agree

Talk on here about us not getting behind then - we did - he did

He played very well

He was good by his own previous standards but still nowhere near what we have both seen and need from a wing back. Baldock was poor and, the more I think about it, hardly ever delivers anything in the final third. Always refuses the cross, cuts back and slows everything down.

They're wingbacks. In our system, it's these guys that will often end up being the spare man. We rely on their attacking output to create goalscoring opportunities.
Neither Baldock, or RND are up to it.
Both fine as full backs, they're athletic, competitive and can defend well. But we need more from those areas.

Put over a couple of great crosses

1 first half should have been a goal

If he had all the attributes everyone talks about he wouldn’t be with us

Improving and is our best option imo at LWB

He seemed to have found some pace from somewhere.
