Really Andy fucking Carroll the serial fouler, Christ.
Yep. You read it perfectly well. I can’t stand Andy Carroll but in the first half he was everything he was meant to be. A handful in the air, good first touch, good link up play and mobile.
Like it or not, he was one of their better players in the first half

We've got Ndiaye, MGW, Mcgoldrick, Bogle and even Baldock to be creative around the area. He was bought to score goals. He doesn't do that.

I agree, we've got too many creative players, we don't want any more thank you very much.

Brewster, moose, Burke all out for the picture for the season. mcgoldrick injured last night.

He’s going to have to opportunity to stake a claim and prove his worth to us.

If we are being fair to him, he’s yet to have a proper go of it for us at this level. Injuries/Covid and people ahead of him have limited his chances to show what he can do. He has to step up and prove it now, but for Swansea, Barnsley he has shown he can be more than effective. There’s no reason he couldn’t get amongst the goals for the rest of the season.

Take McBurnie out of the picture and put Ndiaye in and everyone is on here talking about how fantastic he is at linking the play.
I thought Ndiaye was poor last night. Love him as a a player and he will only improve with age. Dare to say anything negative about him - however true - and some people go into meltdown.

While Billy is scoring, unfortunately he will only get scraps if we play with the current system.

He was exactly that when he played with Barnsley and Swansea. Since he joined us he’s had two full seasons of having the ball smashed up to him.

Watch the video of the highlight thread of our build up play to the second goal. You might just be able to see what he brings.
People see what they want to see yeah he has had some shockers he has also had good games, with a lot of our fans the price tag sets them off and the slagging starts more jump on the bandwagon and try to outdo the previous poster and it snowballs into he is utter shit. The same happened with Berge and Brewster who are despite what some say good footballers why you have to be in one camp or the other I don't know, it would be far better if players were judged on their performance in each game without pre conceived ideas and agendas. McBurnie did little wrong last night but gets no credit for his significant part in the build up to the 2nd goal.

Me and you could've played the ball around at ease last 10 minutes. You do realise they were down to 10 and blowing out their arses?

.

So that 2nd goal wasn’t a particularly good one then.

I always love a “I could do that…” type of comment.
At no point have I mentioned the second goal. At his age I could've knocked the ball about in 5 yard triangles under no pressure.

Was you a professional footballer then? ............................. thought not.

You quoted me where I was talking about the second goal and said that you could do what McBurnie did in that instance.

You're making shit up. Show me a direct quote where I've mentioned anything about being able to do what Mcburnie did in the build up to the second goal.

What McB did last night anyone who's played 5 a side could do, no need to be a pro footballer to doa give and go FFS-

WE paid the money for a centre forward not a defender, not a neat passer of the ball, what we got was a striker who doesn't score goals, who is 1 paced- SLOW, can't get off the ground. He genuinely looks a pub player that's it- that's why 75% of folks think he's poor.

The song for McB is nothing more than 'If Porter scores'- he's become a laughing stock. Jebbo please not this oaf.

Wow.

You need to get out more.

I may have a stalker !!!

UTB.
What an absolute moron.

I get out plenty thanks.
It takes a matter of seconds to look at your post history and see what a total fuckwit you are.

Anyone who doesn't agree with you is on crack though, obviously.

Difference between you and Oli, he acknowledges his shortcomings....

I don't suspect you'll acknowledge what you've said is wrong, you seem extremely narcissistic.

I thought McB played well yet again when he came on. Slightly different job to do compared to last week as it wasn't so much Game Management to see the game out, but pushing us forwards to get the second. He was involved in the second and linked up well.

I think its probably a good opportunity for him to start on Sat if McGoldrick is out.

We've got Ndiaye, MGW, Mcgoldrick, Bogle and even Baldock to be creative around the area.

Best have a word with Sharp then aswell. He touched it 3 times on the left touch line in the build up. We've got Ndiaye, MGW, McGoldrick, Bogle and Baldock to do that.

People see what they want to see. Confirmation bias in action. Guarantee if Jebbison made those 2 sub appearances he'd get a VERY different reaction.

McBurnie had a reasonable first season, chipped in with some goals (joint top scorer in a team finishing 9th) and had a few games where he was very good.

Granted 2nd season he was garbage, as were near enough the rest of the squad.

This season has been stop / start, with limited chances through injury / Covid etc etc. However, as he's getting back to fitness he's had a couple of objectively promising cameos.

He's performed at this level before, so clearly has it in his locker. Theres a few saying its irrelevant, it's in the past for another club but then using the last 2 years as a stick to beat him.

What matters is the here and now, and what we have are 2 promising performances.

We've all written off most of this squad, but have seen upturns in Sharp, Norwood, Robinson, McG, Brewster etc. It's amazing what playing in a team in form and full of confidence can do. Let's not forgot the players are human.

Like it or not, McBurnie has a role to play this season. Personally think he can be a big asset in the run in, and reckon we'll see the best of him.

But as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Over to you Oli.

I'd like to see McBurnie 'Step Up' & score goals between now & the end of the season to help fire us to promotion. But the reality is he probably wont, because he's absolute crap which he's proved time & time again.

Such a fucking weird thread. Though it has reminded me to re-watch One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
