It seems that we are very much the good guys of the Championship this season... for those who didn't know, we are topping the fair play table so far.

For those who don't remember, the red card... Even that was debatable really. It was Gibbs-White against Millwall at home...the second yellow coming for that 'dive in the box.

I don't suppose we should be overly shocked by this. We are usually very much on the receiving end of sly kicks, elbows, dragging back and shithousery. If anything, the Wilder era created an honest bunch who probably don't go down enough..... that said, we have received more penalties than the majority of the league this season (4).

Thinking back to Friday night's game... I thought Birmingham played with the emphasis on roughing the good guys up a bit. Thought they might be in the top few teams based on that performance.....

Other teams that stand out this season are Millwall and Fulham. Kicked away at us, got away with a good few naughty ones...

I suppose its all about getting that blend right isn't it. We don't want get dragged into kick fests, but likewise we don't want to find ourselves bullied by teams either. Sure as hell didn't work on Friday.... captain fantastic was straight in there, standing up for his troops.

It really wasn't.

That aside however, we've been very good in that regard. Luton's red card was the only card at all in that match, and I think we only had one booking on Friday, for example.

Shame this wasn't in the PL before 2016 as we would have been in the running for a Europa League place:

Sorry, whats this thread about..?
Still trying to get over 'West Ham' and 'fair play' used positively in the same sentence!

😍😍🥰😍🥰😍 Them were ‘t days
We won it one year. Bit embarrassing in one sense. Everyone else has actually won something and you're there as the nice boys.

Can still smell the kitchen cooking chips 🤮

Berge, Norwood, Fleck and Houraine. Hardly hard tackling midfielders 🤣

Will we get invited to Dial House to pick up the Fair Play award come the end of the season
Showing you age there. My junior sunday team did in fact pick up the losers trophy (sorry, fair play award) one year. If my memory serves, the year after the U16 league winners and runners up (also the cup winners and runners up ) had an all in brawl on the stage and these events were canned for a few years

Yeah. Probably 80s last time I was there.

This thread started off okay but then descends into.the usual willy waving contest that some people can't seem to avoid ,even.when its one of the few occasions they don't crowbar politics into the discussion

Remember getting the Fair Play award at Dial House in about 91 or 92! Think we’d lost every match in the season!

You have gone and done it now, straight red card coming up against West Brom on Wednesday. ;)
