I don't remember much about mine other than a chant I first heard as part of the heaving throng in John St pre-match.

The words place it as being post 1966 and before Mick Jones' defection to the Dirties.

"We all agree,
Hodgy is better than Yashin.
Mick Jones is better than Eusebio,
and Wednesday are in for a thrashin'."

It pleased my childish self no end.

It would either be the 1-0 win on 4/2/67 (the glory day for Bill Punton) or the 0-1 defeat on 2/9/67.

My first was the league cup game on 12/8/80 - a 1-1 draw. Hatton put us in front, Curran then missed one of the easiest chances I have ever seen before getting the equaliser.

Mine was the 2-0 win when world class Woods was in goal for them.

Hmmm, can't have been County Cup having read The Oracle's posts, must have been a reserve game...

Mine was a County Cup game at BDTBL in about 1975 that we drew 0-0.

Then nothing until the 2-0 at BDTBL on 17Nov 1991 that we won 2-0 :-)

That's mine! remember it as if it were....1967. Stood on John Street with a smarmy twat Wednesdayite. As I grew up, I realised they are all like that!

Mine was the Boxing Day Heavy Defeat (note to pig fans, it wasn't a Massacre)

Lets hope that Sunday leaves us happy, Could this be the day that the Bramall lane crowd sing Danny Wilsons red and white army?

Be great if we could get a result like we had against Bury so we could really enjoy it

Boxing Day - first time I realised how much it can hurt to be a Blade, how sitting in their end is no fun on days like that, and how crap going back to school can be. But, though it took many years, how the worse the feeling was the sweeter the revenge is.

Sometime around 1970/71 my dad took me to the Lane derby. It was a night match, 7.30 ko and we were still queuing at 8.00 so we went back home.

I'm trying to recall any early 70's county cup matches but certainly the first league encounter was that Boxing Day game at the sty. I threw 10p at piggy Curran when he went down on his knees in front of the Blades after scoring. 10p was a lot of money in 1979. Jon Bon has often wondered how his life might have taken a different path if he had kept hold of that 10p and invested it wisely instead of skimming it in the rough direction of a dirty, filthy gyppo....

Who knows? You might have had a gold bar to lob at Blackwell. :D

Alan Birchenall , the tank , scoring a brace at swillsborough , magical to a bright eyed 10 year olds first real memory of local rivalry , stood on their kop as there was no segregation in those days

mine was the bdhd .. seeing as the clubs hadn't played each other (or been in the same league) for about five years.. we walked all the way from jordanthorpe in the rain and all the way back after.. interesting goings on in hillsboro park after though.. heh..

Mine was 1966 at Hillsborough, drew 2-2, went with my father who died in 1993. Return match was the Punton 1-0

The first I remember watching was the 2-0 with Deane's nutmeg and Sir Dane's opener, but that was on telly. I don't think I actually got to a derby 'in the flesh' until about 1993 or 1994. It was 1-1 (but then they pretty much all were around that time) and I can barely remember a single thing about the game.

One of my favourites was at Swillsborough when Asaba and D'Jaffo scored. I just loved the feeling of relief when it was over. And chanting "he's got foot and mouth" when a pre-United Alan Quinn was down injured. I was sure he had taken a dive. I think he broke his leg :D

The last one at the Lane was a real mixed bag of emotions. What a feeling at half time; dreams of our very own BDM. Then halfway through the second half you were praying we'd hold on...

3-2 at the Land 1970 ,thats what probably converted me into the 'new class of superfan' which I apparently am

Don't ever remember us playing them in a night match around that era, when was it?

The game at Hillsborough was also Bert's first Derby match, sat on the very back row of the North Stand.

The home game in what was then Division 1, 00-01 season? Think it finished 1-1, Bobby Ford got the goal.

Best absolutely has to be the 2002-03 3-1 win. Night match, phenomenal atmosphere and Brown's goal.

Don't know to be sure. I wasn't long out of nappies. It may have even been a County Cup match but I always believed it was the league. I'm also pretty certain that it was early in the season as it was light when we set off. Some time later, I saw a picture of Eddie Colquhoun in action against the pigs in Shoot, which I took to be from that game. The pigs were in their blue and white version of the Arsenal kit if that helps..?

It was probably the 2-2 draw in a pre-season friendly just before the start of the 71-72 season.

A County Cup game 1972? (help us out Darren) was the first for me, then a long break until the boxing day thing!

Wednesday didn't enter the county cup between 1962 and 1973 and, after they had re-entered, we had three games against them at the Lane in quick succession - Sept 75 (lost 1-2), Feb 76 (won 2-0) and Oct 76 (won 2-0).

So it must one of those!

My first was when we lost 2-1 at Hillsbrough to two Ekoku goals, after Marcus Fucking Bent had missed from under the bar, the twat.

My first would have been many years earlier, but I wad violently sick a mere half an hour before the home game the season we were relegated from the Premiership. I think it finished 1-1. I'd have been about 6, I think.

That was the first derby game I went to as well. From what I can remember they scored a jammy deflected free kick in front of the away end.

My first one was the 17th November 1991, the day after my 14th Birthday, it should have fallen on my birthday, but the police moved it back 24 hours

That was my 1st derby game as well. I think Michael Brown scored the equaliser then Ekoku scored the winner? The Best for me was the April fools day game of 2001. Asaba and D'Jaffo! I think Sir Neil even did a little jig on the pitch at the stay as well.

Bobby Ford penno in front of the kop. Maybe the only time i saw Bobby crack a smile on his face.

Oh how I wish I could have been at that game. Watched it in a pub in Dundee and was getting beers in when Brown's volley hit the net. I went mental and the barmaid was looking at me menacingly, waiting to be paid.

Or Woody's testimonial in May 1974?

My first was Gerry Young's testimonial in April 1970 which ended in a 3-3 draw. my first competitive derby match was the 3-2 win in October 3rd 1970. Colquhoun, Dearden and Tudor (a soft shot that went through Grummitt's legs) were the scorers. The Green Un headline was SUB TUDOR SINKS OWLS

Either September 1964 (we wore all white) and it was Birch's 2nd 1st team game in the 2-0 win or in the 2-2 draw in March 1966

29th January 2002

Sheffield United 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Attendance: 29,364

The only thing I can really remember is that Efan Ekoku missed a sitter in the last minute at point blank range infront of the away end.
