I'm not sure either of those moves (which won't happen) would be worse than his move to us. He's gone from rising star, playing Champions league football to warming the bench at a mid table championship side.apart from the increase in his wages, why would you move to Newcastle they'll be in championship next season despite all their millions
& If he goes to Liverpool he'll only play 10 games a season
I don't think either move would be good for his football career his Bank manager and Agent will think differently tho
He’s only warming the bench because he’s had a bad injury though, that could happen anywhere, we’re easing him back in which isn’t surprising considering what’s happened with a few of our injuries in recent years.I'm not sure either of those moves (which won't happen) would be worse than his move to us. Mainly because apart from about 8 or so seasons we've been shit for years sadly. He’s only warming the bench because he’s had a bad injury though, that could happen anywhere, we’re easing him back in which isn’t surprising considering what’s happened with a few of our injuries in recent years.
Berge will prove a lot of people wrong because he’s a very good footballer, some of the blame put on him for the dour and lacklustre football we’ve seen for large parts of him been here are bang out of order and don’t reflect his ability, some people wouldn’t know a proper footballer if it smacked them in the chops, this isn’t aimed at you by the way b67.
A bit like Paul Coutts who was branded as rubbish by many but was actually a quality player from day one. He’s only warming the bench because he’s had a bad injury though, that could happen anywhere, we’re easing him back in which isn’t surprising considering what’s happened with a few of our injuries in recent years.

I knew Paul Coutts could play, I had an issue with his lack of effort in his early days with us, what he did after that isn’t in dispute though.A bit like Paul Coutts who was branded as rubbish by many but was actually a quality player from day one.
Most people saw that eventually and so they shall again with Berge
Or maybe it just took time for him to settle and for his team mates to understand his ability and strengths?I knew Paul Coutts could play, I had an issue with his lack of effort in his early days with us, what he did after that isn’t in dispute though.
We’ll agree to disagree regards his early days, nothing will change my opinion on his effort back then, what I will say though is that playing him on the right wing wasn’t the best idea we’ve ever seen.Or maybe it just took time for him to settle and for his team mates to understand his ability and strengths?
Even the world's best have be a cog in a machine.
Must say that I never saw a lack of effort, a lack of effectiveness maybe but that comes down to it being a team game.
I’d forgotten/blanked out coutts time outwide similar to Berge when slav put him out there a few times quality on the ball but nowhere near athletic enough to play wide in the modern game. We’ll agree to disagree regards his early days, nothing will change my opinion on his effort back then, what I will say though is that playing him on the right wing wasn’t the best idea we’ve ever seen.![]()
It's really time for Sander to now impose himself.
Forget about him being sold.
The best thing is for him to play like a 22m midfielder between now and the end of the season.
If he does that then he'll be in the top flight with us.
Needs a run of games and form.

I'm afraid it might as well be aimed at me.He’s only warming the bench because he’s had a bad injury though, that could happen anywhere, we’re easing him back in which isn’t surprising considering what’s happened with a few of our injuries in recent years.

Was he really brought in to replace Ollie Norwood though? Or was he bought so that we could change our style of play and take Ollie Norwood out of the team? Keep seeing Norwood being mentioned in relation to Berge but they are so different in their style of play, I just don't think the 2 should be associated with each other in this wayI'm afraid it might as well be aimed at me.
He's obviously a talented boy and may yet make a really good player, but he's got to do a lot more than he's shown for us. 2 or 3 bits of skill, mixed in with 50 odd minutes of jogging around and then looking totally fucked isn't going to make a career at the top of football. The fact that 2 years after signing, he still hasn't ever looked like he can replace Ollie Norwood, a player he was signed to replace, tells it's own story.
I would also add, when he came in he replaced Lundstram, might be wrong but other than an injury or suspension to Norwood I can't remember Berge being started in his place, or tried to fill his role, or our style being tweaked to suit Berge in any particular positionWas he really brought in to replace Ollie Norwood though? Agree with this wholeheartedly. Never doubted his talent but his contribution has been way below what it should be, injuries or no injuries.I'm afraid it might as well be aimed at me.

The reason I put the replace Norwood comment was based on some of the stuff Wilder said during the 2019/2020 season, when Sander had effectivelty taken Lundstram's shirt. It was along the lines of, "we've signed him to play in the middle, but he's playing on the right for now, and doing great". Wilder certainly talked him up big time on arrival and it was clearly a coup for a club like us to pick up someone of interest to some much bigger clubs. Was he really brought in to replace Ollie Norwood though? How exactly do we harm ourselves by keeping our best player? We only harm ourselves and his career by asking for silly money no one will or should pay
