Good to see Hull are scheduled to play tomorrow. Amazing how they got rid of all those so called positive tests so quickly. Boro must have called to ask how they managed it.
Cheeky bastards...They’re not even out of the new 7 day isolation period...Can we complain?

My worry is teams are having no covid. Playing a game coming away with 20 cases. If this happens to us we won’t be playing in January either.

It’s nailed on that we get it at some point and games have to be called off (under the current set up). Then it becomes a huge problem.

It’s all just fucking wank. Nobody on the planet knows what to do for the best. We can hardly be mad at the EFL for also not knowing.

Coronavirus' are like colds and coughs by their nature. Just like the flu is too.

I do think we will shift away from testing as much assuming the course stays similar but we could easily be looking at a more dangerous variant instead of a milder one and the stakes be very different.

This Omicron variant is like a cold though but there is still delta knocking around and this can certainly cause issues to some.

I've a friend (who I previously considered rational) whose relentlessly tested daily, regardless. Shit shock horror she's positive with an apparent accompanying 'tickly cough'. Cue sanctimonious Facebook 'get tested save the world' bollocks. Shut up silly person, not making NY plans with you and yours again. World is obsessed.

It is rife at the minute though too, which is why we have these postponements and 190k positive cases yesterday.

I don't think we should be testing as much unless you've been in close contact or work in healthcare.

We shouldn't forget this was a more dangerous virus not so long ago.
It's largely not now, with vaccines and Omicron which is of course good but let's not forget we were seeing 1k deaths daily nearly a year ago too.

7 of us went out for Xmas dinner 2 have gone down with Covid but they are from the same household. Wife has been testing every day for a week because one of her staff phoned in sick (+) she's got me testing every few days now because I have a cold/sinus trouble. Negative again as are the rest of us. Covid is still out there even if it is a milder version, I don't really understand the deniers and anti vax crowd. Plenty of people are getting Covid but hospital admissions are not much worse than they were and those that do have to go in usually have not bothered to get jabbed (I know 2 who had to be admitted one was in a right tangle) For most people it will not be a problem others it will hit hard it would be better if people were sensible rather than go to extremes at each end of the spectrum.

Boro were pushing to get the match called off. It will be interesting to see if they can field a team for their FA cup game.

Even Hecky admits clubs are taking the the piss on this issue.
The isolation period is now down to 7 days...So of course they will.

You're negative for covid, but you might want to get an appointment at Specsavers.

The EFL should have been more flexible with clubs re-arranging games at short notice. For example, we could have played at Coventry today (or tomorrow, or Monday). The short notice isn't ideal for fans, players, management, etc but I'd say to get a game is the better of two evils.

I don't disagree. But as your last paragraph states, those scary stats are yesteryear. Society now needs some objectivity and reassembly, it's become fabric to everything and it is NOW a fucking nonsense.

Looks like it's affected the focus on your camera

Middlesbrough have had a sweet Christmas, 6 points in the bag, and call me a cynic but they never wanted to play this game as they would be out on their feet playing us. Wilder is a coward.
I’m disappointed it’s off, still trying to get a refund for our train tickets we booked.

But the vitriol aimed at wilder is ridiculous and obsessive. He is doing his job, doing the best for his new club and it’s working, look at their league position. They’ve more chance beating us in a few weeks than today.

Yes it’s unfair but wilder is playing the inadequacies of the efl, they are the cowards not him.

Chris wilder has moved on, it’s time for us too and not to scapegoat him for all our failures and difficulties over the next ten years. The tevez obsession was just as pathetic.

I don’t think it’s like Sunday league, which might be an issue. Policing, ambulances (which are already stretched) catering (stretched) stewarding etc.

That's just excuses though, these aren't insurmountable problems though are they? We could have played at Coventry today, everything was in place for them to play Luton.

No way will I have a covid test - that's a sure fire way to catch coronavirus . ;) Nope, I've had my 3 jabs and I always take precautions (ie wear a condom). I'm living my life now.

I think iam at the point of no longer caring what happens. Premier league spineless corrupt, efl are same.
The only way I can continue my 55 years of supporting dem Blades + watching other football is to attempt to impose certain principles upon my mindset so that I don't end up somewhere on the spectrum between Grumpy Old Man & Homicidal Maniac.
The first is to recognise that the whole of football is corrupt from top to bottom and therefore unduly influenced by money.
The second is to acknowledge that us Blades will never have any real money or rich owner and will therefore never occupy a place in the top division except for brief moments of incredible success during which the powers that be (eg Tevez) or the general circumstances (eg Covid) will have us down again as soon as they can.
If these two facts can be swallowed , you soon realise that the only way to carry on my passion of a lifetime is to artificially remove the sickeningly unfair aspects from consideration.
Therefore , all I can bother about is :
1. Are the 11 players on the pitch actually giving their all for the cause ?
2. Is the club using its limited resources as sensibly as I manage my limited budget as a pensioner ?
3. Am I any closer to being able to get a pint at HT at the back of the Kop ?
It is VERY difficult for me to stick to these few salient issues , because the media continually wants to tell me about the riches of certain clubs & certain players and the Govt wants to give our cheating nemesis West Ham a virtually free stadium to fill with London tourists.
However , yet again today , I have resolved to stick to my "principles for sanity" whilst following the world's unluckiest football club ... And I shall nip in the bud my habit of posting about such unfair things as our fixtures being removed just as we hit a bit of form.
All that matters is the next game + whether each of the players is doing his best.
Because I will not tolerate slackers taking my club's money.
I don't care whether we're in the top division or the bottom , I will be there , calling out the slackers + praising the good guys.

I don’t know pal, taking catering as an example. My lad does Wednesday and United. He’s been dragged to Rotherham today to help there, they even offered him a lift to go with a few to work at Sunderland, which he wouldn’t do.

bit like cholera pal, when did you last test the tap water?

Explain all of that to those who have lost their battles with mental health over the last 2 years

Yeah, someone coughed near me the other day and I caught OCD.

We’re dealing with a contagious virus that has the ability to kill the more vulnerable in society. I’m not sure there’s a comparison to our criminally under funded mental health care.

I've had four jabs, two from prams, one from a trick cyclist, one from my lovely 18 month old great niece....❤️❤️❤️❤️
