The hockey World Junior Championship in Canada was just cancelled. They tested every player every day and finally found 4 out of 250 players with asymptomatic Covid. So they cancelled the whole tournament.

I've been in the Hallamshire Hospital for 2 weeks (not covid related).
I've had 4 covid tests. One positive followed by 3 negatives.
I'm in Sheffield's Premier Hospital & THEY CAN'T TELL WHETHER I'VE GOT/HAD COVID OR NOT. Add to that i'm 58 with what would be classed as an underlying condition & they seem not greatly concerned.

Makes you wonder 🙄😳🤔🤔🤔

We can sort all of this out if the EFL thinks about it. All players suspended or declared injured for games called off can’t play in the re arranged game. No new signings either. Takes it back to how it would have been. We will soon see this nonsense sort itself.
 
Wilder’s played a blinder there I don’t care what anyone says. Seriously worst Christmas for football ever 4 games postponed 😂 let’s hope we get a game in 2022 happy new year ⚔️

Nobody has ever bothered reporting colds
though before this nonsense started!
We sometimes look back through our old family videos. Christmas after Chrismas there we are the wife and I coughing and barking away in the background while the camera watches the kids opening presents. It's like nobody ever had symptoms like this before. It's utter bollocks now. Stop testing. Stop isolating. Get on with stuff. FFS.
Excess deaths are bang average.
This is a normal year.

You just know that towards the end of the season, a really really nasty strain of this virus is going to develop.

Some of our players will be in a genuinely bad way

And we will be forced to play with what we've got

Every life matters - explain your nonsense to the 3 families who lost loved ones at my wife’s hospital yesterday one was 25 - 20 fucking 5 and died of a cold
1.2% of life is just as important as the rest.
 

What annoys me is that Mr Wilder still claims to be principled ( ref recent interview on Talksport). This reason for this postponement is quite clearly not credible. Anyone can have "princilpes" it's having the resolve to stick to them that counts & , clearly , Mr Wilder has none whatsoever.

I know it won't happen as fifa don't care a toss about domestic football only interested in how much money the world Cup brings in.
There has been over 30 postponed matches so far with obviously more to come ,7 midweek dates available no way can these matches be catered for within the finishing dates..
Premiership clubs moaning about the danger of fatigue causing serious injuries.
The same applies to the EFL and we play more league games with on average smaller squads.
Rotherham are a classic case as Paul Warne indicated pre-season,they were on there knees at the end due to players playing on empty he says it was the main reason they were relegated I think he's right.!
Everything is mapped out a year in advance ( television)no room for problems which can arise
Covid always likely to raise its head again.

This is the thing. People seem to be far too Blaise about this now.

Yes it's actually good Omicron is milder and spreads quick as the wave will last far less in time.
However delta is still knocking about and that's more potent.
We are in a better situation for sure than last year but it's not gone away far from it. Were just lucky it's now a less harmful variant coupled with vaccines that do at least some protection.

We have to appreciate its just football and these matches will be fulfilled. We also have to take these clubs positive cases at face value for now.
I honestly don't see why wilder would be so desperate to postpone unless he had so many out. Why would he want to?

(Everyone is forgetting the risk that any Boro players unknowingly then spread it to our camp too!)

What must happen is getting these matches re arranged. Why have we sorted out with Preston but QPR which was nearly 2 weeks prior we can't?
Something wrong there for sure.

Where is there any proof of this?
They can prove however they have positive tests.

Honestly don't get the bashing of wilder for this. He's still a blade too.

Does no one realise that if Boro are so rife with cases it's possible for some of their lot to give it our staff or players unknowingly too.
Then we're in the same situation come Wolves match etc.
 
After all these league games being called off, I’m glad next week it’s FA Cup. Use it to get the players match fit ready to continue in the league .

Coronavirus' are like colds and coughs by their nature. Just like the flu is too.

I do think we will shift away from testing as much assuming the course stays similar but we could easily be looking at a more dangerous variant instead of a milder one and the stakes be very different.

This Omicron variant is like a cold though but there is still delta knocking around and this can certainly cause issues to some.
