:badger:One or two whispers on BM that he may be in our squad tomorrow. Wilson managed to keep the McDonald deal quiet.

Is this the 'international left back' we were prmoised then? :D

Hopefully bag a goal against his old side if true. Always happens against us.

Well he hasn't scored for 178 games so he is due one!

Can't see one sneaking through this un-noticed. But if Wilson's managed to do it then fair play.

We'll need left back cover soon anyway, as Jean-Francois is one booking away from a ban

Judging by the almost complete lack of ITK posting now-a-days on BM I would say that leaks of info from the club have been considerably tightened up in recent months. Anyway, if it is true then Williams is a decent left back at this level and a bit higher, so it would be a good addition...

Andy Taylor is tweeting that his recovery is going well so my guess is a short term loan.

Sky are reporting that we're close to signing him on loan. Could be in for tomorrow by the looks.

Be a rather good signing. Fingers crossed.

Skysports.com understands Sheffield United are poised to sign Reading defender Marcus Williams on loan.

Blades boss Danny Wilson has lined up a move for the full-back as he looks to bolster his defensive options.

Williams has found himself out of favour at Reading this season and has yet to feature for the Royals.

The 25-year-old has struggled to make an impact since arriving from Scunthorpe in the summer of 2010 and he had spells on loan at Peterborough and Scunthorpe last term.

Royals boss Brian McDermott is willing to loan out Williams with the recent arrival of Joseph Millspushing him further down the pecking order at the Madejski Stadium.

Just shows what level we are at now if we are signing players from a championship club in the bottom 3 and he can't make the bench.

Their defence isn't that bad to be fair, only conceded 8 in 6. The problem is they've sold their main goal threat so that's why they're not winning games.

If he's fit he'll be decent at this level. I hope he's ready for tomorrow, because I presume Francois is suspended for this and not Colchester?

Too right. If they're not a regular player in one of the top European teams I don't want to know.

No need for a signing to do that. Check the league tables. We're third division.

I don't remember anyone complaining when we were taking Prem players on loan in the Chumpionship (well, not initially anyway!), this is no different.

Marcus Williams has always impressed me when he's played at Bramall Lane, definitely a good addition to the squad and far better than some of the recent incumbents in the left back spot!

My Jack Russell terrier is far better than most of the recent encumbants in the left back spot!

Is this the same team that finished in the Top 6 last year?

Wonder what their fans are thinking signing a 4th division striker?

I imagine we'd have been VERY happy signing Adam Le Fondre.

Are you in the same group of people questioning why we were trying to sign Jean-Francois? I'm happy with him so far.

Maybe we should just let DW get on with his job and sign the players he wants

Getting a bit close now isn't it!

Wouldn't really be a surprise if it wasn't announced until just before the game, ala Kevin McDonald.

Would make this forum a quiet place if we left him to do everything and didn't comment though.

It gets on my tits when people question a signing they don't know about. worse still, question why we're signing players from a league above us..... ABOVE US!!! Where shall we sign them from then? I know, let's sign two unproven kids from Rangers' reserves then get really disappointed when it falls through. How are Rangers' reserves any better than a Reading reserve that has got Championship and League 1 experience? I imagine Reading would finish 3rd in the scottish league

Williams was my man of the match tonight. Looked steady at the back and decent going forward.

The only complaint I had tonight was he stayed down too long, but that might be just my opinion on footballers in general!

Solid performance, looks a decent player

But then again, Calvé had a great first game...
