There has got to be quite a few hasn't there.

Just having a look on wikipedia at the present time there is

Steve Bruce - Sunderland
Chris Wilder - Oxford United
Andy Scott - Rotherham United
Paul Peschisolido - Burton Albion
Gary Speed - Wales

There has got to be plenty more, who have gone in to management as well, can anyone else think of them?

Not right now, but I bet tomorrow there will be a little scrote sent down when he was expecting his defence lawyers' full attention to keep him free.

Roger Nilsen went into management in Norway
Alejandro Sabella in Argentina
Craig Short
Simon Stainrod
David Tuttle
Phil Thomson was caretaker at Liverpool for 6 months whilst Houllier was in Hospital
Neil Shipperly is managing in non-league
Dean Saunders is at Wrexham
Tony Philliskirk managed at Oldham for a game
McCall is at motherwell

So yes, there's loads :)

Colin Morris was briefly manager of Scarborough wasn't he. Holdsworth was at Mansfield. Also think I remember one of the Nordic Blades posting something about Fjortoft.

Wayne Quinn plays, manages, captains & makes the tea at Penzance AFC in non-league football.

i beg your pardon ?

He's also involved in youth development at Truro City, who have had a meteoric rise up the pyramid and were promoted to the Conference South last season. Barry Hayles plays for them.

Fred Tunstall - a real United legend. He played for the Blades between 1920 and 1932. Famously, he scored the goal that won the 1925 FA Cup Final for the Blades. He was noted for a very powerful shot, but couldn't head the ball to save his life.

He became player manager of Boston United in 1935 and was associated with the club for the next 30+ years. He had four stints as Manager, but was also trainer and groundsman from the mid 1950s until 1967. He played in an emergency for Boston in the 1950-51 season, at the age of 53! They don't make them like that any more!

Other ex-Blades to manage Boston United:
Jim Smith 1969-72 and Rob Scott 2009-11

And from the dark side:
Howard Wilkinson 1975-76 and Mel Sterland 1994-96.

I think quite a lot of former Blades have managed in the conference leagues. I can think of David Holdsworth and Peter Duffield but I'm sure there must be more.

George Raynor who played a county cup match for us (and he is in the SUFC 1930-31 squad photo) managed Sweden in the 1958 World Cup and lost in the final

Iffy Onuora managed Swindon 6 years ago - recently sacked from being head coach of Ethiopia...

David Unsworth was caretaker manager of Preston for a week prior to Phil Brown's arrival.

Bobby Davison managed Ferencvaros.

Anders Jacobsen was in charge of Norwegian Second Division team Skeid.

Jonas Wirmola managed a few Swedish teams.

Don't worry Raul, you can rest assured that you will have my full attention in helping you avoid the consequences of that "misunderstanding" involving the goat and the tube of lard.

Bit harsh Dazzler, Houso reckons he's dropped about three stones....

They had a fairly wealthy local business man take them over as owner whilst I was based down Cornwall, they started to become more proflic from then on about 2005-06and have rose quite well really. He improved their little stadium and invested in the sqaud and development and it looks to have paid dividens with 5 promotions to take them from knowhere really.

Ray Lewington was a manager somewhere, I think.

Joe Shaw was Chesterfield manager, and I think also at York.

Ray McHale was Scarborough manager.

Rob Scott at Grimsby - and if you haven't seen his argument with the supporters the other week, you should check it out on youtube...

Peter Withe managed Thailand and Indonesia, fancy that. His beard must have been particularly uncomfortable in such tropical climes.

Harry Thickett managed Bristol City to their only FA Cup final after playing for us for years.

He is clean shaven these days....

He also had a Mickey Adams type spell as Wimbledon boss.

2 more - Alan Cork at Swansea and 1 game wonder Mervyn Day at Carlisle.

Keith Curle managed at Mansfield and Chester.
Stuart McCall managed Bradford and is currently at Motherwell.
Craig Short managed Notts County.

Wasn't Steve Wigley caretaker boss somewhere or other?

Jim Brown similar at Chesterfield?

Anyway, forget that. How many ex-Blade currently working at Sky Sports? Every time I switch on another crops up

John Barnwell - Wolves amongst others
Colin Addison - Hereford, Derby, Newport
Gerry Summers - Gillingham

Wigley was manager at Southampton but didn't last very long.

Colin Addison - Hereford, Derby, Newport

Addison supposedly has a street named after him in Hereford in recognition of his achievements there.

He was also Athletico Madrid manager at one time.

Lewington managed at Fulham and Colin Morris also managed Scarborough.
