MANAGER SACKED

Like I say he’s a club podcast now, being told things by the club and he doesn’t want to burn bridges as he’s so far up their arse it’s unreal. Ah well at least he will get another interview with the Prince at some point, pathetic.
Pathetic, as indeed are your comments.
what did you expect him to say?

None of that, a trusted journalist friend informed me.
These journalists who fight to get the breaking news out first, these journalists yeah? So instead of getting the news out and getting hits for the station/paper they tell you a podcaster instead, and then tell you to keep it quite? Yeah ok mate.

Can’t believe the small club mentality of our fans, totally clueless.
The same fans would have been complaining that we lack ambition because we’ve kept faith with a struggling manager.

The Prince is ambitious, Slav has clearly been set a target (with an agreed plan) and is struggling with no sign of improvement.
Apart from Henderson and Duffy he has a better squad than the one that was promoted under Wilder and we’re nearer relegation than promotion.

The timing seems weird as one would expect him to be given until Christmas, at least.
Think this means the Prince has a replacement already lined up.
Also it shows that the Prince is clearly determined to reach the play-offs, so he’s acting now whilst there’s time.
Risky plan as it not good for stability if any club keeps changing its manager.

Personally I don’t mind the change as Slav‘s personality didn’t gell with the fans.
I even stopped listening to his interviews as I struggled to understand his accent and he always said very little, quite monotone and boring.

In the last 50 years we’ve only had 3 successful managers, Bassett, Warnock and Wilder.
All 3 had big personalities who were able to give the club an identity and galvanise the fans.
Think we need a leader who can rally the troops, someone with personality.

Didnt realise you were Stephen Bettis.

He’s a fan, we are all fans. Would you tell your mates what is going on? It would soon get around and we would all know what’s going on. Well you wouldn’t if you were frightened of upsetting the skint full of shit Prince though.

It's my Birthday today (you can wish me happy birthday and apologies privately later). Please don't be so unkind. This is untrue.

You think the Prince wanted us doing a 'Slav In or Slav Out' video? He doesn't dictate anything we do, we have called him and club out on numerous decisions and will continue to do so, starting with this one!

Give it rest, I spoke to a journalist Mate this morning and he said that he is not at all surprised

These journalists who leak something too early and are then told to never attend another press conference ever again?

It's true. Replacement details will follow soon. This was all due to be announced before today, but when it wasn't I admit I was surprised it leaked as it did.

Permanent replacement? Cos that would indicate the board are putting all the blame for our league position and performances at Slav's door which is utterly ludicrous

Prince needs to wake up and realise that just because Chris Wilder, against all odds, took us up to the Premier League, doesn't mean that type of thing gets repeated very often, not normally without decent backing from the owners and giving the manager time to implement his ideas and most importantly, being able to get his own players in.

Slav has had no money to spend whatsoever other than on loanees and is left trying to get a tune out of a broken bunch who would be better served with a fresh start elsewhere. Pre-season was a shambles and we were behind the curve from then on. All our signings came late in the day, none are permanent and only MGW and possibly Davies are the only ones who are decent and if we wanted them permanently, we probably couldn't afford them anyway.

I hope, if nothing else, that Slav has told the Prince where to stick his job knowing that the squad isn't good enough to challenge for promotion and that if he gets no money to spend then he's pissing in the wind being here in the first place. I'm not advocating spending heaps of money like we did last season but he simply didn't have the tools to do the job.

Heckingbottom to be appointed new Sheffield United manager

Paul Heckingbottom is set to be appointed interim Sheffield United manager, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Blades Under-23s manager has been lined up to take over for the second time this year after the decision to sack Slavisa Jokanovic.

So if a friend of his has told him the information, asked him as a friend just to keep it to himself, you think he should come on here and spout it to a bunch of randoms for internet points?
It's called being a mate, having discretion. Then again with the way you're going off, I imagine you don't have to worry about that too much.

The hope was always that Slav turned out to be the Slav of 3/4 years ago at Fulham. He’s never looked like a Sheffield United manager, we’re weak defensively & boring offensively. Lucky to win Tuesday, if we’d of lost/ drawn more would agree with the decision. His record is similar to Robsons. Let that sink in

Ignore the idiot Hal and more importantly, Happy Birthday.

Not sure the outrage, I nearly walked out before half time on Saturday.

The Prince has obviously lied to Slav to get him through the door. He must have promised him money and then broken that promise…..sounds familiar that one.

Fact is, he’s only sanctioned loan players when we clearly needed improvement in the squad. I highly doubt Slav would have taken the job if he knew this was going to be the case.

For me, this is less about whether the sacking is right or wrong but about the evidence that points to the Prince having a track record of bullshitting managers and probably the fans and media too.

The optimist in me believes that we have received some investment so PA has been able to get rid of Slav knowing that the club could afford it.

The realist in me has come to the conclusion that the optimist is probably an idiot

The realist in you is putting it mildly.

And even if we had the investment the logical thing would be to use it to actually back the man at the helm, you know the one you hired just a few months ago, the one with two promotions from the Championship on his CV

Maybe it will show us what the Prince is made of?. Has he got someone lined up?, was it his decision?, is there money available for the next manager? . Or was it a shock and he's up Shit Creek?.
Money.... what Money?

Believe me I am not a Prince fan. team McCabe but everyone knew better.

However we are where we are and the squad we have in the building is what we have and proabbly will be it, no new arrivals and a few leaving. I want a man who can work with what he has, not what he is promised.

No chance. The core of the squad are a couple years older and have all declined massively. The additions since then have all flopped and showed no signs of improvement this season. Plus our best player isn’t even ours.
