Just got back. Was tough to witness that in person. About 30 seconds before he collapsed he watched a pass go straight in front of him and I thought "what's he left that for?" then he turned to Enda and collapsed in his arms....panic ensued for a minute then an eery silence....Good to see him get to his feet for a bit but he was persuaded to get on the stretcher and headed for the ambulance.

Billy helped carry the stretcher and went to the ambulance with him for a good five minutes before sprinting back round and coming on.

The 3 points were for you John, get well soon.

Glad I missed the incident. Hate seeing it as I suffer myself. There'll be no reason as to why it happened other than "it just did" (unless he had a collision earlier on perhaps, that could trigger one). They may find medication, but as a one-off, they probably won't bother and if tests came back OK as Prince says, he'll be off home.

I hope he's OK, but as tests aren't showing anything, the uncertainty may play on him a bit. It may not.

Get well soon x

Must have been an awful experience to witness in the ground and for the other players. Luckily there was a quick response and the signs seem to be positive. Wishing Fleck all the best!

Agree with all of that but your part about the signs seeming positive. The scans/tests haven't shown anything. That's why in my post I refer to uncertainty. That can play on an individual. You don't want to exert yourself too much 'just in case'. Obviously as a footballer you can't not do that. I'm speaking from personal experience and also as someone who has the same info as everyone else, notably the Prince saying tests "are OK". At least with my own diagnosis there was a reason as to why it developed.

I hope I'm overthinking it, but again, as someone who has been through this and will do for life (though I'm 12 year seizure free with medication), I'm looking at it at a slightly different angle than most.

I do hope I'm overthinking it and it's just "one of things". They can happen to anyone at any time for no given reason.

Why what went on ?
I posted Flecky's health was more important than the result, some in the shoutbox didn't agree that's all. They know who they are and really should take a long hard look at themselves this morning.
The incident took the shine off the win for me a bit like when we won at Burton but lost the services of Coutts. Get well soon Flecky.

I kept thinking back to that bit where he slipped and wondered whether that was the start of it just seemed a bit odd at the time it was like he was on ice not grass. Was watching it on Sky Arena and the commentators were very respectful and the Director once he knew what was happening pulled the camera all the way back so you couldnt see what was happening. There was an alternate commentary on the red button on that channel and from some of the comments seems whoever they were didnt do themselves justice with what they were saying.

The sky coverage seemed very 'pre-Eriksen' in terms of what the commentators were saying and how the cameras were panning.

Just before the coverage cut off at the end of the broadcast one of the commentators wished Fleck all the best with his recovery from his 'injury' which isn't a word I'd have used to describe the situation.

Get well soon Flecky, best wishes to you and your family.
My favourite player in the Wilder era and it's been tough seeing the drop off in form.
Maybe last night goes some of the way to explain what's been happening but regardless, wishing you a speedy recovery to full health whether you're able to pull on the red and white again or not.

It was pretty quickly clear it wasn't as serious as Eriksen where they literally showed CPR and him being shocked but yes still a bit distasteful. They seemed to focus on it more after fans nearby were clapping him once he sat up.

Really shocking to see on tv, let alone being in the ground to witness this. Wishing Flecky well.
What is really miffing me though is those people (Le Tissier in particular) trying to use this for their agenda that covid vaccines are causing this. Without any information of what has just happened. Taking advantage to push your agenda when a lad is laying on the pitch is just wank.

Get well soon Flecky lad, echo all the sentiments off here, you have been a real superstar for our club, your in our thoughts and prayers good luck

I'd be interested to see a clip of the build-up to what happened - the disorientation etc. don't need to see the aftermath, that was bad enough live.

Bergen Blade - don't you rewatch all the games?

Football really doesn't matter sometimes. I didn't watch the match, and I got to work at just after half 9 last night. Was following the match via the sky scores app and raging about "why the fuck are we still playing into 13 mins of stoppage time!?"

Felt a bit bad when I found out. Get well soon John. First priority has to be his health and wellbeing. Tentatively hoping it's not a career-ender, but if it ends up being, then thanks for the memories mate.

Whoever the co commentator was, I suppose it was understandable, but seemed so inept and didn't have a clue what to say.
Hampered by the fact that no one knew what was going on.

Terrifying stuff. Just hope he's OK.

Didn't he miss a game last season after being taken to hospital, and then we never heard any more about it?
