He has played such an amazing part in our clubs rise and will always hold a special place in my heart . However I am struggling now to see what he is bringing to the team , going forward he offered nothing and when the chips were down today his tackling was non existent .
He's just about finished as a Championship player, unfortunately there's seems to be no one else at the club pushing for his position.
This needs addressing in January.

He hasn't brought anything for a while. First touch is woeful, doesn't/can't shoot, can't tackle and doesn't have a particularly wide range of passing either. He's been immense for us, but out of all of our players I think he's dropped the most.

Jimmy Fleck has returned from Scotland. :(

Got to agree. If we persist with Norwood then we need an athletic, physical partner alongside who can get up and down the pitch.

Amd why the @@@@ did we bring Hourihane and Geudiola in if neither are good enough to play. That's a waste of 2 wages that could have gone on one first team, box to box midfielder

He's been very bad for a while now, which pains me to see as he's probably one of my favourite players ever. The strange thing is it still seems to be Norwood who gets most of the stick (online and in the stands), despite being far better than Fleck all season.
I don't get it. Norwood looks amazing compared to Fleck, but Norwood can do no right?

Guedioura was a very strange signing, for all the "What about Gordon Cowan/Gary Speed/Stuart McCall?" comments, they hadn't be playing in semi-retirement in Qatar before we signed them.

As for Hourihane, I think it's another James Harper situation - the club underestimated just how far he's fallen off a cliff. To be fair, the Swansea fans' comments should have warned us.

What’s noticeable a lately is how many times he’s got caught in possession, partly linked to poor ball control when receiving the ball

Perhaps his team mates are passing to him when they shouldn’t, I don’t know?

He’s not showing the form he once did but I keep hoping he’ll get back to his old self

And probably a decent loan fee on Hourihane.
Could Hourihane do a better job than Fleck? Maybe not based on Tuesdays showing but he was played out of position, I'd like to see him given another chance.
Guedioura seems a totally pointless signing

Yes its time to say bye bye

Norwood looks Ok and continues to spray the ball about. The triangle of Egan/Davies with Norwood in front is soft and weak - for me it contributes to us conceding daft and easy goals - we look too open with our present midfield.

I agree. Totally out of the match. He contributed nothing and was nowhere to help cover Stevens. As to attacking threat he was never seen. Again not one of our midfielders ever looked like scoring. It's a shame but he has had his best years.

Norwood plays some great "hollywood" balls, but he can't tackle, can't head a ball, doesn't track back and gets drawn into ball watching on the edge of our area when we're defending. He's a luxury we can't afford at the moment when we're so poor at scoring goals and we concede at an alarming rate in a piss-poor division.

You're right, however those hollywood balls are still more than Fleck contributes.

I agree, I just feel Norwood at least does contribute to us having some sort of control in games - Fleck doesn't. His second touch is generally an attempt at a tackle.

Yet Guedioura looked decent against a strong Southampton side and a shite Hull side

Don't disagree about Norwood - but he isn't and never will be a Kante type player who can defend the 2 x CB's.

Not sure what the solution is, but for me we are in this phase of wining some, losing some and the games that we lose, teams have analysed us and find it easy to live with 40% possession and turn us over. Only Swansea have had more possession that us this season.

It's a problem for me that won't go away until we resolve it somehow.

For his sake and ours. We all have to hope Chris Wilder get a new job soon.

Appreciate it’s just one game but think Guedioura did okay against Hull (I didn’t see the game)? Seems strange he can’t even get a space on the bench.
