Given our history if this season is a disappointment the chances are Jokanovic will go. Looking back I can only think of three occasions when we stuck with a manager after a poor season. Two under Bassett: 87/88, he had only been manager for a few months and we were relegated, and 94/95 our first season back in the second tier where we were poor for most of the season. Also 2004/2005 under Warnock, I remember the fans chanting Warnock out after the last home match against Millwall. On that occasion it worked well we were promoted the following season!

I think 94/95 wasn't that bad, from memory we moved into the top two in early March of that season, only to be undone by a succession of draws to finish the season. Two defeats over Easter to lowly Sunderland and Portsmouth didn't help either.

I didn't think 2004/05 was bad imo, apart from a bad spell in January/February and last 6 games we were alright.

Didn't we finish 4 points off play offs?

Plus the FA Cup run was okay, amazing day at Highbury.

We lost 1-0 at home to Millwall on the last home game and I'm sure there were quite loud chants of Warnock Out during the game. Two years after the Play Off final/Cup runs, there was a feeling that Warnock wasn't the man to get us up.

94/95 we had a start very much like this one but got it together over Christmas and got into the top 6 before ending with an awful run

Slav is trying rebuild a side with enough quality to mount a promotion challenge with one hand tied behind his back.

I'm sure he would've expected much better performance levels than he's currently getting from 75% of his established squad.

I'm also guessing he got promised funds to sign new players albeit with some of it coming from 1 or 2 outgoings.

I also don't think believe some of the loanees were his choice (ie Hourihane) or surely he would be playing him every week.

I fear that SJ might walk if this next window goes down the pan like the last one did.

Why stick around if he only ends up tarnishing his impressive managerial record by trying to flog a dead horse.

Imagine walking into a top job in a new company, to then be told 'by the way all the staff are ; past it / need replacing / not putting 100% in etc

AND by the way there's no money to get new staff in'

I think selling Berge and maybe a big money striker is needed before SJ can get significant funds to change the squad. problem is Berge been injured again (injury prone?) and him and our strikers are not lighting up the division that anyone is going to spend on them.

Sack lot. Groundsman, kitman and those people who sell badges outside the ground too..
