long gone now and we may have become a bit of a laughing stock at the time but west ham broke the rules with tevez if it had been the other way round we would have been docked points and relegated the powers that be were never going to do that to a big london club

I think you were very unlucky to have a 'perfect storm' hit you. No fans in, injuries to key players & as you say, getting the recruitment wrong (or them just not working out). Some teams coped ok with no fans in but I think it badly affected you, as a team. Imo, It really derailed the head of steam that you'd built up over the previous 4/5 years. Which can takes teams, a long way.
Fans in last season & I can't believe it would have been as bad. You might still have got relegated but I don't think it would have been as bad.
Oh please we were just crap of the greatest order

A lot of the support is bitter, angry, and anti-the club we are now. It's not the force it was.

We've been left to ferment too long and there's something dodgy growing on us, if we don't get burped soon, our sauerkraut is going to detonate and we'll be finding rancid cabbage everywhere for years.
Yes the force we were with Mcabe at the helm. The glory years.

Which one will we give up on first. Arsenal not returning a ball (again), West Ham fielding illegible players (again)? or Aston Villa's unsporting behaviour with their new (diving) manager?

For gods sake man, what’s wrong with you,

Hate West Ham

Hate dirty fucking Leeds

Hate the pigs

If the reason you get up in the morning isn’t to hate some fucker, you may as well support Accrington Stanley ;).
Don't worry, I haven't gone totally soft.

Hate Pigs & Weeds and have a strong dislike for Chelsea, Leicester, villa, man city.

And as for Accrington bloody Stanley .....🤬

Second one's a regular occurrence...

Two years ago we were playing and beating the likes of West Ham and Brighton. Now we are so far behind these clubs. Supporters are as passionate as ever but I like many others feel a window of opportunity has been lost. Bad recruitment has been a major factor. Whatever West Ham did or didn’t do in 2007 has long gone. We couldn’t get a point at home against Wigan in that final fixture.
Many years ago now I started writing a history of United. It got too depressing so I packed it in at 1934, but a recurring theme is that we’ve been on the brink of cracking it and have blown it each time.
