Middlesbrough part company with Warnock

I'm not the biggest fan of Colin, but I'd sack this current muppet (slopped off straight down the tunnel today again I noticed) and get Warnock in until the end of the season, we'll at least not go down then.

He'd sort the team defensively, motivate them and get the team giving 100%. He'd get the basics (back line and spine) in the team right.
Then what?

Remove the individual flair, sign Lee Crooks, and cement us as a boring lower mid table Championship club for years to come?

Why not have some patience and at least give this manager the time he had at Watford and Fulham to see if he can replicate that.

Or is that too radical for our fanbase?

I would've taken Warnock in a heartbeat. Excellent manager and a great bloke. Of course Wilder should still be Blades manager, but the powers that be wanted control of recruitment (which was top class in this division by the way). It takes a special kind of stupid to drive two such managers away.
At the moment SJ is proving all the doubters right: a cheque book manager that can't actually organise or motivate a team. That he's still convinced that his system will work despite begging for more players a few days ago would be hilarious if it wasn't so serious.

Calm ya tits pal, its a forum other opinions than your own are allowed.
what fan wishes a rival team promotion its pathetic especially one managed by a man who walked out the back door after angling for a pay off and left us in the shit all because he was too cowardly/weak/greedy to resign

fuck him and fuck boro

A fan that respects CW and what he achieved and acknowledges that he's human and therefore might make mistakes at times.

I reckon he regrets how it ended but like most things it's not black and white, we don't know what went off behind the scenes.

Regardless of what happens I'll always hope CW does well and hope one day he manages us again.

Doesn't make me less of a fan. Maybe just not so volatile.

CW left by the back door taking no responsibility for anything and took an easy money pay off. He’s quoted as saying he has plenty of offers other than Boro that no one else seems to be aware of. They clearly aren’t better options. As for NW and money, his demands for a new contract took more of his time than coaching, which led us falling into a relegation battle.

As for surviving in the PL, Wilder had an excellent season followed by a total capitulation of a season that matches anything achieved in the dark days of relegations to the old third and fourth divisions. Warnock, great at promotions, check out his PL history. Relegated or sacked.
I do not demur from your assessment of NW & CW when they were (with us) on their way down & out.
But when they arrived they seemed to have a plan + moved us forward.
This bloke SJ is having no such positive effect , so I don't see why his stock - with us - is higher.
I don't recall how long he stayed at either Fulham or Watford after getting them to the PL.
Watching the team playing tells me they couldn't give a shit + that's very worrying - and that's the manager's job , however difficult.
If only I could detect (in our play) a cohesive plan in his head , or even understand his interviews , i might view his stock slightly higher , despite our points & position.
But to me , we have the perfect storm , a bunch of wage picker uppers + entirely the wrong manager to kick them into action with some well-chosen Anglo-Saxon expressions or the odd broken nose.
If you've read the book or seen the film , the Perfect Storm does actually sink the boat in the end.
And to continue the analogy , our boat-owner has no real money , has allowed our income to be wasted , has left no legacy of infrastructure + will likely as not put us into administration before bankrolling us , despite his good intentions when we were rising 2016-2019.
He had a club worth over £100m about 5 minutes ago - now it's worth FA + still owes money on the mortgage for the ground.
Your better at accountancy than me , but even lawyers can do basic arithmetic.
If the Prince wants to avoid L1 +/or administration , he needs a different manager + give him at least some cash in January.
Just my opinions , of course ...
And I am certainly not one of these knee-jerk folk who would get CW or NW back !
But our lazy overpaid players need something more like them than the current incumbent , especially if he's no January windfall.

I have been wondering this myself, but without actually knowing for certain...Is he a chequebook manager? What were the fees and wages like that Fulham and Watford were paying out when he managed them?
