If you thought we would finish mid-table at the start of the season then fair play to you. I was thinking top 6 minimum but after 6 games this season it was obvious we was a poor side.

We get around £10m less in parachute payments next season than and there’s no way in the world we won’t be in a £10m+ loss making position this season with the exorbitant flops’ wages and amortisation to account for.

If we’d have spent wisely in the first place the parachute payments would have been a stopgap for a season while we got promoted, as it stands now it’s a sticking plaster over a very large financial wound.
