Disgusting behaviour from Blades fans tonight

Happens at a lot of clubs, and especially when things aren't going well... Sunderland have a similar thread about them,it's not only United.
Is it indicative of a larger trend in society then a rising level of anger and disregard for social norms? Or is it a result of lots of fans being brought up and heavily altered and romanticised tales of football in the 70’s and 80’s when football was a mans games and atmospheres were better and trying to recreate that fiction? I’d fall into the under 30 category myself and have watched some fairly turgid united displays in my time and whilst i can remember a few occasions where it got a bit fraught under Adkins and Weir I don’t remember the same feeling of general tension there is now from kickoff.

I think this is all a sad indictment of what is going on in wider society. A lack of respect for other people, for the property of others etc. A lack of accountability or consequence for acting like a fucking idiot. I hear it said of pupils from teacher friends and I see it in daily life of adults. Social media exacerbates the problem.

We're no different to other clubs I suspect. It's a societal issue.

Reminds me of Port Vale fans bouncing and kicking off when we won 3-0 towards the end of our promotion season in 2017 at Vale park. Trying to “get” at United fans the huge gate suddenly swung open and for 5 seconds or so the chance was there’s. The just stood there like statues and waited for the stewards to close it again before carrying on bouncing and attempting to get to the Blades fans again. Grown men. Utterly embarrassing but so funny

Me and the Mrs were at that game. When we came out, a line of young coppers were keeping the supporters "apart". The Port Vale fans were sort of bouncing up and down on the spot and shouting "come on then!", and Blades fans probably doing the same. One Port Vale fan came running up, towards the line of coppers, with an empty plastic water bottle in his hand, he threw it, it went about a foot forward and then the wind picked it up and blew it about 10 feet back, into the Vale fans (not gonna get hurt by an empty plastic bottle anyway!).

I had parked in the home supporters car park (because we arrived late, and didn't have time to drive around), so I walked up to the line of coppers and asked to be let through. Young police woman said "sorry, it's not safe", I said "but my car is parked over there", pointing at the car park, a young male copper said "might be best if you hang on a bit". I looked at the Vale fans, most of which (the noisy ones), looked like they would soil their boxers if you popped a balloon behind them, and said to the copper, "don't think they are going to do anything really, do you?, we need to get back home", he looked at me, looked at them, and said, "off you go", and they un-linked arms, and we walked through, it went quiet, the Vale fans parted, making a path for us to walk through, and a few minutes later, they all swarmed together again, bouncing up and down and shouting "come on then!" to the other Blades.

We just walked through them, not one said anything. If our "lads" are like that, it's all for show and most of them would not know what to do in a real fight.

Is it "woke" to condone stamping on heads now?

Do we think that maybe that term is getting a little overused? I don't think you have to be a Corbynista to not want grown men fighting whilst your stood with your daughter.

This time next year Rodney!

I got on an unusually late train to go to the game on Saturday , it's the leeds to Sheffield train which calls at Rotherham.
It was packed with Sunderland fans .

Do Sunderland FC sell rainbow scarves? I'm asking for a friend.

Didn't witness what happened last night, I wasn't there, but not good to hear. . I'm sure there is an element of the wannabe thing though mate, but it's not just the young'ns..and fans turning against each other is nothing new.. To much impatience along with negativity and division about at the moment for me, we need a few wins, but need to give the Manager more time,we're in a transitional period is the way I look at it.

Worse place for this I’ve found is Wembley, like minded supporters and their mates are scattered all over the place because of the way tickets are allocated and some choose to behave like they were at the back of a stand right down near the front rows, that in turn annoys others and the confrontations start. The stewards are useless.

I'll add this onto my original rant on this thread.

Why can't said cretins cope with a whole 45 minutes away from their mates? I'd hazard a guess that they want to act hard and cause some bovver but, because they couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag, they don't dare behave in the way they want to without having the right "numbers" around them.

Quite simple really. You get all pre/half time/post game time with your mates so why feel the need to act like utter c*nts by not taking your allocated seats? No wonder it's kicking off left, right and center :mad::mad:

And then proceeded to wait across the road from the away end and chucks rocks/stones at all the Blades fans departing the away end at full time. The cops did fuck all as usual. Proper hard men they were .... NOT!

Proves my exact point. The BBC get some hammer on here and rightly so at times but in general the old style firms only fought with like minded opposing fans. These twats nowadays ie this experience at Port Vale just attack at will with no thought for the elderly/children/woman etc.

They're nothing but an absolute bunch of fucking cowards!

On an unrelated but probably related note, around 10 years ago I went to see the Stone Roses reunion gig at Heaton Park, I was driving to this particular gig. While there witnessed several pockets of trouble from 40 plus year old men who thought they were 18 again with their drink n drug intake and 18-30 year old men who basically couldn't handle what they'd taken.

So last night and several away days will be full of similar people unfortunately.

Can’t believe what I’ve seen tonight. Blades fans kicking the shit out of other Blades fans, right under the noses of women and children. Never seen so many people absolutely off their heads as I have tonight. Embarrassing and shameful. I’ve been following the Blades away from home for over 40 years and that could be my last one
Not always idiots they have a go at though is it. Fancy getting a seat next to people like that. I really despair at some of the so-called fans we have and we wonder why so many other clubs fans despise us.
So many clubs fans?

Think we have a few rivalries like most clubs and their fans love to call us everything under the sun. But we’re certainly not anything out the norm as far as that is concerned.

If I'm not back in 5 minutes... Wait longer.

I’m thinking drugs. Only because the general rule is that homosexuality can’t appear on a thread of less than six pages.

I was sat on T row behind the goal and quite near the dividing line between us and Forest fans so I assume the incidents happened in the corner?

From my own experience sometimes it’s not turning up late went to the chezzy match away in the promotion season with a group of lads who were friends of a friend that I’d been out for a drink with a few times and when we got there I made to go to the seats we’d booked but they asked what I was doing and said they were off up the back because it’s a better laugh. Needless to say I watched the match with plenty of spare leg room and they spent much of the first 15 minutes arguing with stewards but eventually the stewards relented and they were allowed to remain along with many others clogging up the aisles and generally making it unsafe.
What grade did you get in English? Plus, you must have felt really tough that day big boy

Hi Stegosaurys here

I really dont think there's anything more pathetic than a football "hooligan"

One of my Facebook friends is quite into the culture (I use that term loosely) and shares videos. It all seems to be 50 year fat bald men who look like they cant walk up stairs without breaking into a sweat brawling or scrawny Jack Grealish look alikes bouncing around after a few shandies. Pathetic. Grown men acting like 13 year olds

Doesnt seem to be just at football either. Ive lived in various parts of Asia for a while, barely see any trouble. Last time I came back to England 2 years ago, it was a shock to the system to be honest.

So many loud, drunk, badly dressed, badly behaved ugly tossers with zero respect for themselves and other people. I opened a toilet door at a pub the lardarse inside who was eithet too drunk or stupid to know how to lock immediately threatened to "knock my glasses off."

It seens like it has just gotten worse.

Just as an example of the differences. Some of the tubes in Korea had libraries and magazine racks for people to read. It wouldnt last 5 minutes in England before someone nicked them or just destroyed them.

Sorry for the rant. I'll go back to making stupid posts about Brewster and Robinson now.

If you look on You Tube it is filled with the youth of all clubs around the country acting like this, it’s the current football fashion for them
Get drunk, drugs, throw beer at each other, dance and sing in big groups, jester at the opposition fans to have a go, push and shove and have no respect for anyone
All stood there with their phones above their heads so they can look back later and see what an amazing time they had

I was there, and they were definitely scrapping near the exit to the concourse. I wasn't close enough to see who hit who, but they were definitely fighting. Whoever says they weren't isn't correct.

The bloke they took away came back in a wheelchair 2nd half and took a seat. He was saying that he had been hit in the ribs and couldn't breathe and needed medical attention. He looked extremely ill when they took him out originally. There was also an upset mother and child re seated on the front row 2nd half. Not sure what had gone on but they seemed very upset.

One of the young lads who got escorted out was off his face. The eyes had gone and he could hardly walk straight.

Personally I didn't think it was too bad today, but we do you get some real bottom feeders who follow us away (no-one on here obvs 😂😂). Worst for me was Rochdale away a few years ago when the idiot ratio seemed very high, and someone brought a couple of detonators which they set off. Abusing middle aged women in the snack bar was a particular low point.
I was at that Rochdale match and one of those pyrotechnics or whatever it was landed at my shoe, luckily didn't do much but singe my shoe and ankle a bit. Not sure why anyone would throw one into a crowd of any fans, much less Blades.

Tend to agree. If there were fights breaking out all over the place, as the OP suggests, I’m sure there would have been a noticeable amount of stewards running around.

Seems to be the MO nowadays not to have minimum wage employees wade into a ruck, just leave it to the CCTV and nick them later

Cannot personally say I've seen any Blade on Blade stuff since the Hull semi final, only trouble full stop I've seen was coming away from Port Vale which was caused by them, but I don't go to as many away games as many on here, and wasn't there on Tuesday

The stewards on Tuesday were left to form a line between the Forest fans and the piece of fabric separating us. Once they equalised the stewards were mobbed and lots of them seemed to be getting crushed against the seats. Meanwhile some coppers sauntered out with their handheld camera to capture the scenes, whilst leaving the minimum wage stewards to face the brunt of it. Fucking useless

The openness of lads getting sniffed up at the football at the minute is staggering.

Not everybody on here will have met Grappler . Those that have, would very readily make a path for him (and his Mrs). You'd probably offer to sweep the path too....

So this Columbian marching powder seems to turn people into little skinny runts that fronted up shit there self .and they seriously pay people for this shit .

This is exactly what happened. Police did nothing. I just saw a female copper get her handheld out and film us lot and there lot where the dividing tarp was.

The bloke next to me has his nose broken, I saw a young lad 3 rows in front of me take a hay maker to the side of his face, and Shen it kicked off just after we scored I saw a 40 year old bloke stamp on a young lads head after his mate had just decked him. I still can’t believe what I saw tonight. I left the away end in disgust 10 minutes before the end of the match. I went for a piss on the way out and there were 3 to 4 of them kicking the shit out of each other in the toilets. Morons

Stage 2 of vaccine side effects. The zombie apocalypse is on schedule.

On a far more serious note, I really appreciate these posts of yours. Was going to enquire about those spare tickets for Blackburn but you've convinced me to stay away, especially as there'll be close to 5000 in attendance, ergo an increased amount of dangerous morons. I can only imagine what a state they'll be in for a Saturday game.
