Disgusting behaviour from Blades fans tonight

I’m calling bullshit on what you’ve posted.

I’ve been at the match tonight and not seen anything untoward, as have a few other respondents on here whose opinions I trust.

Tonight has been a loud and noisy away following backing their team, I was around the concourse at half time, before the match and after the match and saw none of the behaviour you describe.

I'm calling bullshit on what you've posted.

I know for fact there was at least 1 scrap as someone I know got punched trying to defend their mate.

There is CCTV everywhere. I realise as a club we're generally incompetent but it can't be beyond the dint of man to make a concerted effort, with SYP, to identify and simply ban anyone fighting for the rest of the season?

Not sure it's as simple as that mate. What if said person was only scrapping to protect their children/mate/parent? Do they deserve a ban as well?

I've seen credible stories from last night stating some people involved in the rows were only involved after being attacked themselves. What are they supposed to do just stand there and get the shit kicked out of them?

Depends on who the people are who have been hit right but even then if they have giving somebody a good hiding for no reason or a stupid reason then they should be punished.

Guess you’d better hope that some of the “respondents ..... who’s opinions (😳?) [you] trust” aren’t about as / when / if you ever get chinned🤔

Great passion shown by blades fans last night. Or was it.
We had a long thread on here at the weekend blaming our support for not being loud enough or passionate enough.
Now there is a thread saying it boiled over. Which way do you want it blades fans?
Sterile or hooligan ridden.
Or maybe somewhere in the middle.
Or let's stick to safer ground and just slag off referees in the future whilst remaining woke

wtf?! It sounds like you're defending violent yobs because we need more passion? Which is absolutely absurd. Passion doesn't and shouldn't end in violence of any kind - If people can't control themselves they shouldn't be out in public.

It seems to me too many fans appear at the last minute, often pissed up and either can't find their seat or want to stand with their pissed up mates so they just stand on the stairs. After the Hull game I mentioned the trouble to a friend and he had seen none so it's not impossible to be unaware of what's going on - it's a matter of being lucky and not being in the wrong place at the wrong time! My answer now is to never choose a position near the end of a row and hopefully keep out of the way of the pissheads.

I didn't go last night but watched on SUTV and there was an occasion when 5 or 6 stewards went into the crowd (didn't take much notice so I can't say exactly when it was). Have a ticket for Blackburn but losing my enthusiasm for going.
From my own experience sometimes it’s not turning up late went to the chezzy match away in the promotion season with a group of lads who were friends of a friend that I’d been out for a drink with a few times and when we got there I made to go to the seats we’d booked but they asked what I was doing and said they were off up the back because it’s a better laugh. Needless to say I watched the match with plenty of spare leg room and they spent much of the first 15 minutes arguing with stewards but eventually the stewards relented and they were allowed to remain along with many others clogging up the aisles and generally making it unsafe.

Is it "woke" to condone stamping on heads now?

Do we think that maybe that term is getting a little overused? I don't think you have to be a Corbynista to not want grown men fighting whilst your stood with your daughter.

I was close to the handbags ,at half time ,nowt really happened .
But as others have said there's some young UN's that don't respect anything .

Yes. It's the only language that they understand. Violence is quite acceptable when it's used proportionally and for the right reasons.

I call reductio ad absurdum

Yeah maybe, but where do you start with that kind of comment?

From my own personal experience as a young teen scallywag standing on the kop. If my behaviour was getting out of hand some adult Blade would give me a clip followed by ‘pull you neck in you stupid little cunt’

I never even considered this to be violence, just a daft twat being put in his place.

If the adults Blades reaction would have been to deck me and stamp on my head that would have boiled my piss and guaranteed a violent reaction in future, the making of a football yob, thankfully that never happened.

So yes self-policing and PROPORTIONATE violence can be the answer, but the bigger problem is; how do you self-police 6 pints of stella and 2 lines of snort.

Is the trouble scores being settled between lads who have had trouble with eachother in the past? or is this just random pissed up lads bumping into other random lads and causing trouble for no reason?

Went last night. Stood correctly in my seat which I had bought quite near the back and close to home fans . 5 mins before k off a blade passed BEHIND me on my row and accused me of pushing him !! Wanted a scrap which was v bizarre. Real Mr Angry .

Around 5 rows in front there was plenty of issues throughout the game between blades. This was just above the guy that was taken out in the wheelchair.

Didn’t see the OP incidents but absolutely not surprising and fully believe him. There seemed to be tension throughout the away end , created by lots or youths and older ones either pissed or coked up.

Won’t stop me going but it certainly affects enjoyment (if that’s currently applicable given our performance levels!) when surrounded by dickheads !

This has been building for about 10 years imo.

Having gone to matches for 40 years there's always been bother to varying degrees, it's nothing new.

What feels different to me though in recent years is the type of behaviour and those perpetrating it.

Most of what I see is young kids who look like they couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag but after a bit of Charlie and been surrounded by like minded mates, they're as happy giving grief to their fellow Blades as anyone else.

Too much is done for the benefit of being filmed on a phone and then shared on social media, but the lack of respect for their fellow Blades stands out a mile for me.

Affected my enjoyment last night too. I've been to every away game this season bar Luton and I hated last night all because of a very small minority of our fans. I fucking did not enjoy what I experienced last night. It's mostly young lads aged between 18-30 I would say. Either pissed up and/or on drugs. I was sat right next to the home fans where the big cover was behind the goal and I didn't really enjoy celebrating us going 1-0 up at all. As soon as we scored I celebrated and got fucking mauled by a load of our lot all just fucking egging on the forest fans which I get. I get it. Nowt wrong with that but one particular idiot seemed to want to jump on the big cover and really start egging on their fans. So much so that he carried on right until they scored the equaliser and looked a right tool. There were a lot of forest fans going to the stewards asking to get rid of him. I actually was hoping they would. I was thinking to myself have you been to any games this season because I was fairly certain they would come back into it and he would look like a right idiot and so he did. Then when they equalised their fans all approached us and tried to lift said cover up. All because we wanna cause a fucking fight.

I don't mind giving a bit of stick to the fans, do not get me wrong. But where I was sat they were more interested in saying stuff like "your trousers are from primark" and "you live in a council house" than watching the match. Seriously. I swear they didn't even watch half the game. It was in my fucking earhole the whole fucking game and I hated it. I barely celebrated our goal as I said because I got fucking slaughtered. I'm not the tallest guy (5ft 9) but I just could not stand it last night.

By the way, to whoever has said this is all bullshit about fights on the concourse and in the toilets and the bust up at half time. Seriously, pipe down. It did happen. I saw it with my own eyes. Near the end at the toilets, yes. At half time there was something going on as well and people had to be calmed down. Didn't quite see the half time incident but something was going on. Fucking hated it last night and in a strange sort of way I was fucking glad it was a draw because the lads round me would have got worse and escalated shit if we had held on.

I knew as soon as I sat down right next to their fans with just a cover in between us that I might be in for a rough ride. My girlfriend was sat right at the other side and I should have sit with her where there was a spare seat.

Tend to agree. If there were fights breaking out all over the place, as the OP suggests, I’m sure there would have been a noticeable amount of stewards running around.

Nothing wrong with passion, plenty shown last night but as with everything in life there is a line which shouldn’t be crossed. Unfortunately, particularly on away days it does and it’s getting more frequent. It’s not fun when some people don’t feel safe amongst there own fans. I bet nobody on this site enjoys being covered in beer or tomato sauce at half time on the concourse or wants to worry about being hit with flying glass bottles when we score if your stood near the front.

It's not that simple but if you get CCTV on seats, for example, and something kicks off, you can at least potentially identify the people and see what happened before or after. Even if it's a case of just speaking to them and then keeping a record in case they pop up again.

Doing nothing just makes this all worse because there's zero consequences.

This concourse shit is all down to ticktok, insta etc etc. Fans from every single club post their half time concourse shenanigans, all think they look crazy, loud, amazing, all rolled into one, look pathetic if you ask me and I'm a youngster.

Years ago I used to sit on H block of South stand and none of this shit went on with the concourse bollox it was proper intimidating, these lads wouldn't dare do it then and if they did they would probably get a clip,I wasn't an hooligan I was only about 14 but I enjoyed the atmosphere.
