So you didn't see style, creativity or ability? You weren't entertained?

Yes, it was great in Wilders first season, but let's not get carried away and pretend it was like watching Barcelona at their best.

That's what we've been reduced to, thinking it's in some way miraculous that we could have a good season against Third Division teams

It was organised, structured, and workmanlike, everybody knew their jobs and functioned well with a bit of decent football thrown in now and then.

It was against very poor opposition.

It was a freak occurance bearing in mind our usual standard of winning is normally just as boring as our losing.

Ironic that you're complaining about things being boring

Yeah because his second and third were totally joyless. Call me small minded but this is Sheffield United we're talking about, not Barcelona. I'm speaking for myself here but give me a committed team that entertains me from time to time and I'll wander back up London Rd for a slurp a contented man. Am I happy with mediocrity, no. Do I expect any more, no. I'm 53 this year and the joyful experiences following my team have been few and far between. I think that's why when it all comes good it means that bit more. Keep your Barcelona. If it's yearly domination you're after you're watching the wrong team, and I don't mean that disrespectfully.

I'll second that view as same age as you this year too. So for me I will watch from overseas on my mega 9 week Xmas extended break and maybe get back to Blighty for what I hope will be the run in from March. I may watch from further overseas if I decide to also. COYRAWW!

Thanks. That's cheered me up no end.

Anyone else reading this with a Sean Bean voice whilst waving the bread knife? Just me again then.
No, you’re not on yer own GB but I’m doing it wearing my suspender belt and fishnets whist standing in a bucket of cold baked beans.

I wouldn't expect anything less! Also offers the potential benefits of a high protein supper afterwards.

The whole club is geared to a "Lack of entertainment, style, creativity and ability"

No player can play for us and have these attributes, even if they had them before they arrived.

Same with managers

Our next run of decency will be in 15 years when a Sheffield United fan becomes manager and manages to bully and by some miracle get the best out of the useless pricks he's got on the pitch
