We (my old fart buddies and I) don't go to away games unless we can have a decent sup of good ale before and after the game. The days of club coaches with police delays outside the town to stop us supping, and coaches being escorted out of town afterward mean that we abandoned coach transport long ago. Even Shred's and The Railway coach trips were being closely monitored by the rozzers. Which leaves the train. We fancied Bournemouth for a trip, so before the tickets went on sale, we looked up train times. Cheapest return ticket was a bargain (apply irony here) £122.00! So that is why we're not gonna Bournemouth. We could all afford it, but cannot seriously justify it. Fuckin ridiculous rail prices.....
With an over 60s rail card the train fare would have been £81.

Funnily enough, the away game at which our supporters were probably in best voice this season was West Brom. Fat lot of good it did as we lost 4-0!

Ffs who giz a fuck ? Fact is we got 20 odd thousand ST holders and we still struggle to fill away ends.

Load of bollocks
The club struggles to shift tickets, the fans struggle to buy them.
This struggle goes on because of the way the loyalty points system works meaning a second or third allocation cannot possibly arrive in time.

We could take thousands away from home when only 10,000 were going to home games, but people still won't have it that the way our loyalty points system is administered is costing us larger away followings.

Those with 25,000 points and above should all be eligible to buy tickets from day one until day two. That's it.

First allocation would sell out immediately and further allocations at lots of stadiums would follow

We have a blasé bunch of people that think they deserve a ticket and continue to hang about waiting, which holds the chain up further down

Nobodys bigging anybody up certainly not pigs but if stating facts about them travelling in bigger numbers than us bothers you that much why dont ya start going to away matches like alot of us already do and try and change it. Best hime averages in champ you say ? Id expect that cos we are prob biggest club so lets show it on road if thats bigging pigs up or slagging us off then i i give up pal

Must be a pig cos im telling ya a few facts. Ffs ive watched blades home n away and been in lots of shit over years doing it if you knew me or any of my mates from 70s 80s youd understand how much i hate em but all this bollox reminding em they took 3k to qpr when we cant sell another london club day after on a fucking saturday is ridiclous
Can we remind em that despite taking 3000 to QPR they haven't been in the Premier league in 21 years? I'd rather us take one coach everywhere and be batting in the top 2 divisions than take 3000 everywhere and be in league 1.

It's like comparing dick size. "Mines 6" bigger than yours"
'Yeah but yours dunt work so I have to shag your lass'

I couldn’t give a toss who you are. When you’re not slagging off our support and bigging up the pigs, what do you think of the fact we have the best home average attendance in the Championship?
weve got better home support pigs have got better away support its as simple as that really

Don't you get it yet it ,doesn't matter what s6 midweek get home and away they are wank allways have been allways will.utb we do magic

Somewhere, there were a 1000 or maybe more Sheffield United fans that wanted to go last night but couldn't get tickets because of the clubs lack of common sense in selling tickets quickly.

Those with 50,000 points don't buy tickets until their Dad, Brother, Uncle, Mates, or dog with only 40,000 points can buy tickets
Those with only 40,000 points can't let their mates with 50,000 points know if they are going or not because they are waiting for a friend who only has 30,000 points.

And the reciprocal arrangement continues all the way down the scale. Tickets get left unsold until the last possible second, meaning no more tickets or increased allocation will ever arrive.

The only way to solve the problem is to set the bar for getting tickets at 25,000 or whatever and sell the fuckers.
If somebody with 50,000 misses out because he's pissing about, well then it's their own fault. But at least a second allocation has time to arrive.
It was pay on the day at Boro, nobody missed out, those who wanted to go went.

I think that’s the whole debate here isn’t it, you’re absolutely bang on!
Who really gives a toss or believes the rubbish and the hype (really). Let’s be honest, there’s nothing to pick on anything between the clubs, the only way any of this ever succeeds in the debate is for the line to be moved to suit the end result. More fans, less cups, cold weather….oh but it was Tuesday blah blah. Despite the rumours, no fans are actually louder, better or even more stupid than the other, in spite of the rumours or propaganda. And I’d challenge anyone to prove it with evidence other than quotes like ‘my mates uncle Dave said us Blades are the worst, and them pigs took 1m to Wigan’. The thing with this bollocks is that we all start to believe it as though it’s true or care… Donald Trump(esqué) almost. All football fans are daft, they exaggerate and talk crap…paying £40 to watch a game proves and requires it, but let’s not give too much shit.

As I've already said, that's complete bollocks.

Tickets available on the night at Boro

All this talk about loyalty points stopping ticket sales is complete bollocks.

Anyone that wanted a ticket could have got one.

Most unusually you could even pay on the day.

The truth is that everyone that really wanted to go to Boro went to Boro we just didn't have enough willing supporters to buy all the tickets, so will people just stop making excuses for that.

Also, I went but I thought our support was crap. The atmosphere in the away section was flat as a fart probably not helped by a similar level of activity on the pitch.

Our support is fantastic, particularly considering the utter shite of last season. We have the best average home attendance in the Championship - something the pigs haven’t managed for years. That’s far more noteworthy than not selling a couple of hundred tickets for Boro on a Tue night.
……in a game which was live on Sjy

Yes, because everybody can just drop what they're doing and magic themselves to Middlesboro at a moments notice, can't they.

Our shit away followings have coincided with the loyalty points system

We don't need one for away games, and if we do, it should be with the attempt of selling as many tickets as possible

And not to barely scrape through the first allocation

Yes, they do a free for all

And anybody that thinks our loyalty points system has not decreased our away attendances must be sniffing something

In 2006-07 I was at our two first away games in the Prem, at Spurs and Fulham.

Not as a loyalty points holder, I was on a corporate beano

Our support for both games was shyte, bearing in mind the games immediately followed our promotion to the Prem.

The reason......... the way our loyalty points system is administered, not the loyalty points system itself
I was in ibiza for both. First to get a ticket for arsenal away was them that had a stub from either of the first 2 away games. Those were the only 3 games I missed all season. To me though that worked, if you went to spurs on a Tuesday night you deserved the chance to go to arsenal .
Anyone remember needing a stub from either Lincoln or Colchester yo get a ticket for Hillsborough in the league Cup. Again the most loyal went to Hillsborough .

I'm going to Millwall away in February. Chief reasons for wanting to go are;

1- I've never been
2- I should be OK to get a ticket
3- Millwall home matches don't usually get moved for TV making no 4 a decent gamble
4- I've already booked my flight so SKY TV fucking behave and don't alter the fixture day/time
5- My brother has promised me a pre match tour of independent boozers in Rotherhithe
6- I think I've reached the stage of life where going to the Den shouldn't involve having to face off the local Herberts.

If we are in the mix by then I might be on the scrounge for loyalty points.
Think you'll be fine, we'll be mid table

On yorkshire away days it says 4k pigs at wigan. We ‘apparantly’ took 1700 ish to boro. I dont think they took 4k to wigan either but it dunt really matter what matters is why we arent selling boro out when we have over 20k ST holders ? Thats my issue. Fuck wendys im more concerned with us
It was their cup final to be fair.

Comment of the season for me that. It would be a shame if most people on here don't bother reading it.

I remember that Fulham game. We sold out and loads of us were sat in the “neutral zone” 🤔 Not that shite in my opinion but what do I know

I went in 2001 and from memory we drew 1-1 and there were about 100 United fans on the terrace dancing in the rain. Tigana was the Fulham boss. In fairness it was on sky and it was a few weeks after I became a dad for the first time so I was going regardless.

On about the 2006/7 game not 76!
