Ffs come on he played well today did the job asked of him all the idiots slagging him off give your head a wobble confidence comes with playing games mark my words the boy will come good
Honestly mate, we all want this, I'm sure everyone on this forum desperately wants this. But we can't deny what's obvious right before our eyes, which is that he simply doesn't look very good. None of us want that to be the case. But that's what 37 games for this club (is that enough yet?) have shown so far.

The problem with Brewster is the price tag. The fact we’ve spent so much on him means we expect him to score 20+ goals.

But he just doesn’t look like that player. He’s not a bad player he just isn’t a £20m player.
Bit we did stupidly pay massive money for him, so he'll always be judged on that.
If we could get anything over 5 million for him in January, I'd sell him.

That just about sums it up for me, I'm willing him to do something anything what will make me think there's a footballer in him, but sadly up to press he doesn't look good enough even at this level, and no it's not his fault with the price tag he's carrying it's just bonkers some daft twat paid it! Sadly us.

He did fine considering he was out of position. Certainly put a shift in.
He certainly was out of position all game - never on the end of some lovely crosses to the right side of the box we were attacking (where I'm sure Slav had told him to be). Poor kid is just feckin lost on a football pitch , never makes runs , never on the end of crosses , then resorts to giving the opposing GK some handling practice by firing in from deep straight to his chest.
Useless , move him on , write off the fee + forget about it & him.

He does make runs. No fucker looks to pick him out but to say he doesn't make runs is simply untrue. He doesn't win headers but then again no other fucker does not even our defence so you can't really hold that against him.
Sharp scored with a header

I have had alot of patience with our strikers given the service the last couple of years. I'll continue to give more time before judging too harshly as things have only just clicked for the squad but the signs arn't good for Brewster. He doesn't seem to be on the same page as anybody, flicks to noone, runs to nowhere. I like that he has the character to keep attempting those out of the box shots but how they never trouble the keeper is becoming irritating.

Yep Brewster is wank, let’s blame him.

Not the more experienced strikers around him also not scoring and doing fuck all.

Not the non-existent midfield that consistently go backwards instead of creating chances.

Not the ex-Manager who made a song and dance of the signing and then barely played him.

Not the dogs abuse he gets on social media and here for being poor when his confidence is already rock bottom.

Not the fact that his first real first team run outs were for a side pretty much relegated all season, against some of the world best defenders.

But no, he’s wank. Sell him and play McBurnie instead, at least he wins us a couple of free kicks per game and falls over a lot.

Support the lad, he’s not missing easy chances and open goals. He never gets the chances and he’s not a drop deep and create your own striker.
He's not missing chances coz he never gets on the end of crosses or through balls - just shuffles around somewhere between MF & ATTACK , hoping for the ball to be laid on a plate for him - I've given him a long long long time but he's a 🍋

This. ^

I have seen him a few times, this and last season when he winds his foot up to unleash a shot and it is straight down the gob of the keeper. You have 192 square feet of goal to aim at, the centre two thirds covered by the keeper That gives you 32 square feet each side into which a shot has a better than even chance of beating him. That is a lot of area to aim at.

pommpey

At least he is hitting the target, considering how crap we have been for years at hitting the target when shooting from outside of the box its got to be seen as an improvement.

MGW was trying to link up with him today.

Also, McBurnie was making runs for him off the defenders as well to create space.

Imagine trying to pick out a player (who actually played alright) for criticism after winning 3-1 away from home.
Trying ?
It's easy mate , Brewster makes it easy by being so ineffective.
Hull are shit.
If certain of our players can manage to be poor against such shit , then I've no confidence in them against the stronger opposition.
Davies is another one - quite a weakling for a CB.
Thank goodness he's only on loan - I might have assassinated Klopp if he'd got a full transfer fee off us for Davies as well as Brewster !

Nah mate , it's impotent racking up of your "shots on target" stats - it's of absolutely no use to the team.

I don't like McBurnie but I would have to swallow my dislike + pick him over the poor kid Brewster

You don’t spend the time he spent with Liverpool without having someat about you.

You also don’t bang then in for Swansea like he did without having something about you.

I genuinely don’t think he wants to be here and never really did.

if he put in the application that MGW does he would absolutely fly. However, I think he doesn’t have the attitude and is already wanting out.

He was crestfallen to be sold by Klopp - he seriously thought he'd have a career at Anfield after scoring well at Swansea - his miserable face tells you everything - he's come to a club that got itself relegated + his worst nightmare has come to pass.
So he's mentally fucked.
But I'm sorry , we Blades haven't got time to dry his tears + wipe his arse for him.
He's on a man's wage in a man's world - his only way back to the PL , with us or some other club , is to apply himself + perform.
But he's still sulking + if he carries on his career will be toast.
He has the prime example of Burkey Boy in our squad to show him how a young player transferred for big money early in his career can quickly end up on the scrapheap of football history.
He's on the edge of the abyss , leaning in.

Some interesting points there.
He looked more instinctive at Swansea but also on a few occasions you saw him sprint to get into a goal scoring position. So from a desire point of view he hasn't been showing it for us. So maybe you are right maybe he never really wanted to be here. MGW attitude as you point out is terrific.

Klopp did mention that he was a good finisher but there were other aspects of his game that needed to improve. Based on what I have seen, if he is to come good then it's only as a centre forward with a partner up to to create and do the donkey work. He seems lost and doing the minimum when playing deep or left or right. Definitely struggles to read the game out there.
But if the desire isn't there that's a bigger problem.

It's real enigma to figure out what is wrong with him and what to do with him.

He doesn't seem to be on the same page as anybody, flicks to noone, runs to nowhere.
Something tells me, he's into something good.

He was alright out of position today, but the few times he got near the box he didn't really look like a striker back in his natural habitat. If Mousset and McGoldrick were fit, he probably wouldn't even make the bench.

Daft as it would be to stick such an expensive player in the Under 23s, it might do him good if he can actually start scoring at some level.

Seeing Brewster in the starting 11 has become a disappointment.
I wish it were different,I wish he could read the game,I wish he would bust a gut for the chance to score,I wish he’d
learn summat from Sharp,I wish he’d stop aimlessly trotting around the pitch for long periods of the game.
Nothing will come to Brewster unless the penny drops.

Completely agree… he just needs to look at the examples set by MGW and Billy in terms of work rate and application alongside bags of talent… both at opposite ends of their career but that should only served to ram home the point… if the Penny doesn’t drop now I don’t think it ever will
