I noticed in the behind-the-scenes video for the Preston game Jack was in the corridor as the teams were coming out for the first half, so he is still round and about the team business
I hope that is a positive sign!

Shirt number, in and around the first team. All positive signs that the club expect him back at some point later in the season?

We sooooo need him back and playing like before. I am not holding my breath though as an injury taking this long is very dodgy.
Meanwhile surely we can’t play Dobbinson again. He is just awful. Basham is miles better.

Jackie Long Throw I thought was his new nickname?

He’s been around the first team for a while the exceptions being when he’s in the immediate rehab after his operations. Unfortunately him being in the gym isn’t really an indication of progress he’s been in several videos in the gym throughout his battle with this injury doing strength or bike work isn’t his issue it’s running and turning on grass until we see that I don’t think he’ll be close to a return.

I think that's summed it up.

There's a difference between being able to function as a normal human being compared to being in a condition to play potentially 30+ games of professional football each year for the next 10 years. If he was going to be right, its unlikely to be this season that he'd be back 100% and with an injury that's gone on this long, will he ever be?

Let's just hope it's not another Coutts situation where he never got back to the standard that he was playing prior to injury.

18 months to 2 years is a long time to not be playing.

Sadly, if I was a betting man, that's probably what I would predict. He's a hard man and will do his best to get back and forge a career for himself but it's a long time to be out to come back at anything like his old level.

It's still all speculation. We don't even know if the setbacks have been the same exact injury or things too with surgery/lack of playing.

I'm not actually concerned by the length of time out. It's the complete lack of definitive information on what the actual injuries have been that's concerning. Clubs are usually quite forthcoming with that sort of stuff

I hope he gets back playing and you never know with medical science these days but generally when you've been out injured this long it isn't usually good.
Reminding me of Dane Whitehouse.

Still get over that it was due to a collision with Henderson in training.

Not in the submitted EFL squad as memory serves so won't see him until at least January, but i would say unlikely he will be registered then either which means won't see him this season.

I have given up on ever seeing him play again. Such a shame, an absolute waste.
The lad could have done it all.

I saw him arrive in the car park behind the SS for the Peterborough game about 30 mins before KO in his tracksuit. So he's not a full part of matchday, real shame.

This maybe a stupid question, but what exactly is his injury

He's been at every home game. It's gutting for all concerned. We all hope he can make a comeback

Even if the club knew he wouldn’t play this season, they’d be mad to not give him a swuad number considering it doesn’t cost anything to do.
Annoucing the squad numbers and omitting him would’ve caused a huge meltdown.

He could play in a wheelchair and fill in at centre back? Has to be an option right now? :D
