This is your match thread for our annual visit to the Coach and Horses.

Is anyone off to Dronfield?

Sheffield FC Vs Blades

Does anyone know if its all ticket with it being a small ground or can I just turn up on the day??

So far so good - a clean sheet

Don't worry. The Maestro will protect the back-four by conceding plenty of free-kicks on the edge of our box. He'll break up play by giving away the odd penalty. And then there's Collins, of course...

Will you combust if he scores again? :)

wtf? If that's the team we intend playing in the league then it's League 2 here we come.

Well... my nose feels a little burnt from the tropical Dronfield sun.

The match wasn't anything to write home about. United had the best of the ball but didn't seem to be able to do anything exciting with it while Club's players looked knackered after 20 minutes. Maguire seems to have grown another foot taller and looked the most assured player on the field. Tonne kept trying cheeky through balls but no one seemed to be on his wave length. It looked like a bit of a kick around in the park to be honest.

Bit underwhelming as we're hoping a few of those will force their way into the team this season? Then again, pre season games are often like that.

Why do you know enough about half of those players, the only ones we have seen much of are Maguire and Collins and Boggy? It's nice to see a young team fielded to be honest, but we must remember it's a pre season friendly, there will be a few changes possibly additions too, this is by no means the team that will run out in August.

Really disappointing yesterday. Summed up the pre season: completely and utterly underwhelming.

Thought we looked comfortable on the ball and tried to pass it around well first half. Was impressed how composed we looked and thought the central midfield partnership of Dave Mac and Harriot looked good. Young Harriot played the deep role very well and as well as looking good on the ball he was always available. Liked the look of him and would like to see more. Despite us dominating possession we lacked a cutting edge and created little.

Second half we were poor. We did little with possession and created little. That said Slew missed a couple of absolute sitters. He was disappointing and I would be tempted to cash in on him now from what I saw yesterday. Cresswell was poor and none of the young lads used in the second half impressed me.

Overall we were really disappointing. We tried to pass it around, but lacked width, creativty, pace and imagination. The older pros (Boggy, Cressy and even Lowton and Slew) were disappointing, as were Tonne, Chapel, Warren, Philskirk and others (whose names I don't know). Davie Mac was ok (but faded badly) and Harriot looked pretty good. I'd like to see those two in CM again (or one partnering Williamson). Collins actuially looked fairly composed and won a lot of headers. He did the basics ok and looked for the pass, rather than hoofing. The gem in the shite was Harry Maguire. Strong, good in the air and like a rock. Not the most composed player, but lead by example and did the basics right. Never hoofed it and always looked for the midfielders or full back. Keeper Long did not looked the answer. Should never have come out for the goal and was his fault entirely. He then lost confidence and did not come for a couple of crosses he could/should have done. Not ready to step up imo.

Ale in the sun outside the Coach and Horses was much more entertaining than the match. I hope that match is not a sign of things to come.

Match report to follow .....

Always good to have a pair of eyes, but I thought Lowton was not playing?
