Whatever people may think of Wilson he is not stupid. You don't get a job like ours with a recent record and reputation like his unless there are very good reasons to do with likely player sales, financial restraints, the need for a yes man etc.

Whatever he was told at interview he would have known the reality anyway. Not that it makes it any easier.
 
If we had any money to spend we wouldn't have appointed Danny Wilson.

He's paved the way for a Lowton to go, by stating that we've had no offers and we don't want to sell him...

Next thing it'll be "i'd love to play pretty football, but I just have to play the style with the players i've got because I can't shift them"

My knickers aren't in a twist. I hope we do sell all existing dross before we make any decisions about how to replace them. It makes sense so that we target the budget appropriately. I don't have any problem with what Wilson has said so far. It's beyond comprehension though that if we weren't in the mess we currently are, we wouldn't have appointed a man of his demonstrated abilities.

I think you're looking a bit too hard for cracks. I find this slightly suprising from someone who's still yet failed to spot any cracks in, pound for pound, the worst signing in our history!

Wait a minute though, if you lie on your CV, or you bullshit at interview then you can be dismissed on the strength of it. You can be taken to court for it, so are you saying that Wilson was lied to? That he was bullshitted?

I think maybe not, I think he just wanted a job that paid a good salary, a job where it didn't matter that he wouldn't be liked because he's a pig, and a job where success really doesn't matter to him because again, he's scum. He has no affinity to the Blades, quite the opposite, he's not worthy as the saying goes.

McCabe has proved to be a right c**t over the last couple of years, making this prick the manager just shows further contempt for you and me. Big Blade? Big Twat more like, and the sooner him and his brown nosed followers do one the better. He can't understand why we'd be upset having a pig in charge, another example of just how big a Blade he is, the dopey get :kissass::brick::kissass:

To be fair to Wilson, he was questioned about transfers and budgets pretty much as soon as he was appointed and as far as I can remember, his answers were along the lines of "I don't think we have to sell" and "I believe we have a transfer budget regardless....". If anyone can provide a link to an exact quote saying catagorically that "We don't have to sell" then fair enough but I don't think he actually said that.

According to Kopped who arranged the Fans Forum with Wilson, the quote was as follows:-

DW: No, I think we have money in the pot, we need to find out where we need to strengthen first. We'll only really find that out when players return from their holidays and we can see where we will be from there. Players will leave and players will come in to replace them. but the words 'I think' are key though, hardly a catagorical 'No'.
 
More likely the "we need to find out where we need to strengthen first" is key. No point in signing a CM, for example, if Quinny, Monty, Willo, etc aren`t moving.

I think I slept with Jennifer Aniston last night and she said I was the best lover she's ever had.
Ok, that's not strictly true (only the second best actually) but I did include the words "I think" in my statement, so don't hold me to it.

The stupid thing is that everybody knows we haven't got a pot to piss in and if he'd made his recent comments at the fans forum, nobody would have been surprised.
He'd been in the job two weeks when he attended the meeting, I would expect the manager to actually "know" how much money is in the pot by then.
Didn't he think to ask?

Exactly. What is wrong IMO is certain people using this for their anti-Wilson agenda.

I personally don't have any anti-Wilson agenda. He wouldn't have been my choice but now he's here, I hope he does well.
What I don't agree with is any manager telling fans "No, we don't have to sell before we buy. I think we have money in the pot" when it isn't true.
It wasn't true when he said it and a week after we offloaded our highest earner he's now saying "incomings centre around departures".
Why couldn't he just have said that at the fans forum? Why give people with an "agenda" any ammunition, when he didn't need to.
 



This is complete hair splitting - but it goes to prove what I suspected from the off. He doesn't stand a chance, and for that reason, was a daft appointment whichever list he topped.
