Firstly this isn't me laying into Slav.
But what is the plan from the board and SJ?
Let me start with Slavisa.
He has arrived a little later than we hoped but still has been in charge for 7 weeks now.
I appreciate he's only brought in one signing I also appreciate its been a disruptive pre season. But as yet I'm struggling to see the plan or identity he wants the players to play. Aside from playing out from the back. So far I haven't seen a game plan, pattern or style to score.
People can slate the players in last night's midfield but the issue seemed to be the plan. They're all too deep, there is no breaking of the lines too. Midfield looked tad more dynamic when Freeman came on. At half time nothing changed which surprised me.
Last night we also lost so many 1st and 2nd balls. Valerian's bread and butter we got bullied.
Hopefully with some new signings if they come out play will start to become apparent. SJ often starts slow. Hopefully this might be a shock in a good way all round and not what we fear instead.
Board. We've been relegated since April. Finances must have been clear since before then. Why does it feel we are deliberating over everything constantly. I mean SJ took nearly 3 months to announce. Yes I know he was in a job but you hear of managers being announced before the season end.
Where is any sign of improvement in training facilities coming from. It's been 2 years since promotion and even the players are talking about it. (They could be disappointed nothings happened too)
This United World group sounds good but does it mean the Prince and board are spread too thinly?
We should be challenging for promotion. This still might happen of course.
But if we aren't careful we will be back where Wilders journey started and nothing to show for it.
Yes people can lay blame at Wilders door certainly on recruitment. But most of this squad have proved capable at this level. He left us heading for the Championship which is still a league above where we started.
I hope this is the wake up call the club needs. It's a good time for one while the window is open.
