Like Ramsdale was supposed to you mean??Eastwood can’t get games now anywhere in league footy. I think it’s fair to say he won’t be playing and shouldn’t be playing for United.
We need to find a young, top quality keeper that will stay for a few years.
Exactly the sort of desperate signing I expected.
He does take a decent set play and can score the odd goal which is more than anyone else but in general play he is extremely ordinary. Even Swansea fans said he was poor when he played for them and most did not want him back despite the odd goal..
We needed energy and people who could break through midfield and play forward passes. Isn't this lad another Fleck/Norwood type?
Surely the sort of player that has been available all summer too...noone has signed him including us so why now? Just seems to be a 'just get someone in' type signing. As I say if he can score 'A' goal or take a decent corner then maybe that is something.
Underwhelming to say the least if true.
I think he must be much lower down the list on targetsIt seemed such an obvious signing, why couldn't this be done before start of season?
We’ve just got rid of one.Eastwood can’t get games now anywhere in league footy. I think it’s fair to say he won’t be playing and shouldn’t be playing for United.

who'd have thought two of these would be offloaded by Fleetwood within 2-3 yearsView attachment 120010
End of an era ladies and gentlemen
I know what you mean, but he is more of a goalscoring threat from midfield than every single midfielder on our books combined, so that's something. He’s been poor a for a couple of seasons and was pathetic for Swansea in last season’s play offs (subbed in all 3 games).
Pointless cheap option.
The Tinpot Blades are back.
Great signing. Might finally score direct from a free kick? Must be four/five years since that ever happened
Literally been linked with him all summer so not exactly “last minute.com”30? THIRTY? Haven't you got anything older?
I agree with you. Smacks of lastminute.com and not the kind of forward-thinking transfer I was hoping for. Considering we're desperate though, not the end of the world.
On the plus side, he did get 5 assists at Swansea in half a season. We need to bring a midfielder in with energy but he's something we don't have in the attacking sense and since we seem to be looking at deja-vu Duffy role then maybe he fits well into that.
5 goals and 2 assists in a less than half a season, which is more than our entire current midfield managed to get last season (though naturally in the division above, excluding Freeman). On the plus side, he did get 5 assists at Swansea in half a season. We need to bring a midfielder in with energy but he's something we don't have in the attacking sense and since we seem to be looking at deja-vu Duffy role then maybe he fits well into that.
Ah but which one? If we are talking the real John Fleck then no chance, but as he has disappeared & left Jimmy in his place then you are probably right. He is an upgrade on fleck
Fleck in current firm scores none and assists maybe 3 over the course of a season. Similar for Norwood. From 462 games across all divisions he has 161 goal contributions split pretty evenly across goals and assists, 81 being goals. 30% in the Championship, 28% in League Two, 20% in League One and just under 5% in the Premier League.
Fleck has played in 452 matches across divisions, so very comparable and has 73 assist and 24 goals if I recall. 47% of his career has been in League One, 23% Championship, 14% Premier League.
So over the course of a 46 game season Hourihane contributes to 16 goals and Fleck to about 10.
In his time with Swansea he scored 5 in 24 and assisted twice.
He's certainly a good alternative to Fleck and probably just the right level to give him a rocket to address his performances.
He starts in the prem every weekI’d have preferred a loan for El Ghazi
That's why he prefers him.He starts in the prem every week
