Difficult to say when the only detail is "with the Club offering adult match tickets from £13 up to £31, depending on match category".

It obviously depends how many @£31 there will be and for me what the lowest price in the South Stand will be.

I *do* like the:

"And from Monday 11th July, fans of all ages can also become a member for a one-off payment of £15 for adults or £10 for juniors.

Blades members will receive £2 off match day ticket prices, which will take only eight matches to recoup the cost of membership, plus a range of specially designated offers such as ten percent discount in the Club Superstore; the ability to buy away match tickets, offers for SIV venues across the city, 20 percent discount at Doncaster Racecourse and discounted parking in the city centre.";

which appears to work as a kind of mini-season ticket that will work well for me.

Does that mean you won't be allowed to buy away tickets unless you join up?

50% increase

Let's hope the on-line ticketing system is capable of deducting the discount as it hasn't been thus far.

Looking at the fixtures, I can't imagine there's going to be many £31 games, maybe Hudders, Chessy and Wendy.

Normally I wouldnt bother with membership but with 20% discount at Doncaster Racecourse - where do I sign up?

This! Have Walsall away pencilled in for next season, I would rather not have to stump up £15 for the priviledge of being allowed to buy a ticket...

Certainly a bizarre decision if true, I would hope it just means that being a 'Member' means you jump ahead of 'general sale' when it comes to away tickets.

Interesting. From the clubs p.o.v, if someone say, London based goes to one home and three away, club gets 1 x £25 and has to process four transactions.

Is it a bit too conspiricy theorist of me to say that it's interesting they stuck the "ability to buy away tickets" right in the middle of the press release?

Can't say I like that much, bit cheeky, similar to what other clubs do though (L**ds as an example).

I imagine ST holders are automatically eligible to buy away tickets.

I'd have thought they're trying to manage the demand for away tickets, given the allocations will be so much smaller than before (and make a few quid in the process)

Suspect many away games will sell out to ST holders before they go to anyone else.

Not sure what it means by the price band to £31 - is that for the kop? If so I won't be going to any Cat A games. Be prepared for surprisingly low attendaces in those games unless there are very big away followings.

Will the membership card be easy to load with tickets anyone know? Will I be able to go online on a Saturday morning for example and buy a ticket that is loaded on to my card for the saturday pm game?

As I hinted at above, the membership card hasn't worked in previous seasons on the online system. It would let you book as normal but the system wasn't capable of applying the discount. Last time I mentioned it, the ticket office said the system was in the process of being updated, whether it now is is anybody's guess. Yep, once you've bought your ticket, your card is updated and becomes your ticket.

It will be interesting to see what kind of allocation we get for away games, I'm sure some grounds will make more seats available than normal if they know we're going to sell the tickets. Given that there'll be some new grounds (and we will of course be challenging for promotion :)), our away following could actaully be up on previous seasons.

Doesn't this system just look overly conveluted. What the hell happened to just "It's going to cost this". If you buy a season ticket you save some money, if you are Junior Blade you also save some money but everyone else pays whatever it is. All this "Super dooper pooper scooper discount for blades who aren't quite as big as some other Blades" and "Your a twat because you never bought a season ticket so we will persecute the bollocks off you" discount.

Then you have to have "Bigger Blade" points (which has always rankled with me) to get away tickets. The system wasn't perfect but it just seems to be wrapped up in more marketing bollocks than is really necessary now.

If someone from the club really wants to listen perhaps they should just make matchday tickets cheaper for all, season tickets cheaper for all, then they will get more people through the turnstyles. Make the food and drink appealing and well served and by jingo you might make more money. People don't mind paying if its decent (this goes for the football and the grub).

I really wonder who the hell they employ at BDTBL sometimes because they don't seem to be able to see the most obvious of things.

As for "One of the cheapest in League One". Do we have Campbell and Mandelson working for us these days?

I'm certainly planning on going to more than the zero away games I went to last year (an umpteenth trip to Watford, Reading etc seeming very unnatractive considering our form). Being southern based I'm looking forward to Yeovil, Bournemouth, Stevenage, Wycombe etc. so looks like i'll have to get a membership card to be able to get a ticket. Although if next season pans out like last, it'll be £15 wasted!

Can someone just tweet @rbsufc for an answer (for some reason my phone, or Tweetdeck won`t let me)

Just phoned the ticket office, and they have confirmed that you will need to be a member (And have loyalty points) to purchase away tickets next season.

Hmm, club decision or one thrust upon them I wonder, can of worms officially opened !

It's definitely a bit cheeky and it smacks of United wanting to database their entire fanbase. Mind you there are 10,000 ST holders and penty who would buy a membership anyway. This probably only affects a small % of United's support and it's only £15 with other benefits.

This'll obviously affect exiled blades the most, but anyone going to a couple of matches at BDTBL and buying anything from the shop wouldn't lose out much. THe club probably think they need to get something out of fans who only buy away tickets and hence never add to the club coffers with home tickets or merchandise.

I think that's pretty much the gist of it

:D

fookin hell they've been reading Bladesmad at BDTBL .....all the Blades that have said fook it we'll only go to away games !

I know its not been our club for some time but I wonder when they will run out of innovative ways of milking the same cow? The people in our Marketing department should all do as the great Bill Hicks once suggested.

Very Good.

Next I'll have Tesco charging me to buy Morrisons beans.
But you usually shop in Tesco and you'l be getting a discount on their beans.

Surely if you're in Dronny and not a ST holder then this is a good thing for you since you'll be saving money on matchday tickets so long as you go to more than a handful of matches?

Last season I went to about 6 home games. Of those 6, I only bought the tickets myself once.

Why should I have to pay SUFC for the priveledge of purchasing a ticket from Yoevil?

Because if you don't, they earn £0.00000p out of your spend.

They ain't daft and they ain't blind. All they've seen on message boards is how a) How everyone who hasn't got a ST will not be attending regularly and b) Looking forward to some new grounds to visit. So loads of revenue lost and as a by-product a proportion of that going straight into the pockets of their rivals. This is a way of some sort of clawback whilst re-inforcing the protection of the value of the ST.

In reality, it should have absolutely no impact at all, as all the away tickets should be snapped up by STH's anyway, given that the venues will be fresh and allocations in some of these places much smaller, particularly if the season goes well. But, as so often these days, they've still managed to piss loads of already pissed off people off even more.

Unfortunately this is simply a way that United charge a premium to those fans who don't go to many games. If you go to more than 8 home games you are not suffering.

Whenever I get someone else to buy me an away ticket for example I let them have my card number, that way I get loyalty points even if I didn't do the transaction. I'm sure if there's a £2 discount with a membership, then you'd be doing the same if a friend bought you a ticket for a home match.

Its simply a way of being ripped off more than I was last season.

At what point will enough fans tell their football club to get fucked?
