Ok People,

I've arranged a forum for next Tuesday at 6pm.

If anyone wants to come please don't hesitate to contact me on: [email protected]

I will give you details of the venue then as the person hosting this doesn't want it in the public domain and we have to respect his wishes.

Hope to see you all there.

Just to reiterate, this is a respectable forum and this is your opportunity to vent your spleen in a friendly and constructive manner. If you intend to come and hurl abuse, please don't bother to turn up. This is the one and only rule I have.

I personally can't attend as I'm bloody miles away. But would be good to get a few forum members in attendance to ask some questions and report back with what was said.

I expect lenners will be there, he likes to get stuck in and influence the way things are run at Bramall Lane, as long as it's not being held at any of the venues on his personal blacklist.

Thanks for that endorsement Mic, I wasn't aiming for comic genius, but it's praise indeed coming from you, renowned as you are for your rib-ticklnig contributions.

I'm humbled by you finding some time in your busy life at 9.30 on a Saturday evening to be on here and telling me how sad I am.

It doesn't bode well for club-supporter relations when a fans forum with a manager is kept hush hush in case people turn up to protest...

So far it seems that McCabe the club are working extremely hard on the PR machine to ensure that no stone is left unturned in trying to get DW accepted.

We have had:

- Mccabe's rhetoric emphasising the need to "entertain"
- DW stating that he's going to play with style and substance
- Morgs nodding
- TC stating that DW is the man
- Pitch maintenance focused on playing attractive football
- Preseason being set up in consultation with DW
- DW has identified targets and the squad he wants

We've had lots of talk... but no action.

What we don't have as far as I can see is:

- Any idea of a transfer budget
- Any targets
- A preseason schedule
- A back room staff

Considering that the season after the play off final was excused because we didn't get a full summer in then things are already being made difficult

Now I understand that PR is important, but I really think the club need to start getting on with preparations for August
 
I agree Swiss in the respect of that we now need to start seeing some sort of Action at the lane, and that doesn't include the reseeding of the pitch either

Its frustrating, obviously people can think that my view is tainted by my opinion of the manager, which is obviously innevitable (no matter how much I try to remain objective)

I really couldn't care less if DW plans to win over the fans, if he's intending to play total football and transform our team, thats all a side issue. The point is he and the club need to get on and do their job.

The more and more I read about big plans also sets them up for a bigger fall if/ when it goes wrong.

I'd much rather hear how DW achieved all of this at the end of the season when he's sat next to the 3rd Division Championship Trophy with the Blades name on it and people like Mic, Ollie and Pinchy are telling me "i told you so".

McCabe, Wilson, Morgs, Pembo, Riddle et al, just get on with it.
 
Frank Barlow was apparently at the fans forum last night, so he must be Wilson's new assistant. He's got a good CV

Not being funny but they're hardly likely to broadcast such information?

There's still very few actual transfers completed and I'm certain we'll already be working on getting people in.

Maybe a touch of patience required?
