Little shit ,when the going gets tough the Shits get going

The going got tough at the end of the last season, and he preformed when others didn't.

An obvious "come and get me"

I was hoping that Quinny would stay, he's surprised me and come good again, so lets hope that we can retain him and convince him to give it a shot (on reduced money).

For all the shit that Quinny has had from our so called fans, he remains one of the (Very) few technically competent players in the squad and I for one am not at all surprised by the apparent Premiership interest. OK its not Arsenal but it is still a million miles away from being a Blades player at this moment in time. If he moves on I wish him well as he has been a good servant.

My fear in all of this is that our technically capable players on high wages will move on. Evans, Quinn and maybe even Willo.

This may well leave us with cloggers like Hendo / Cress who, I very much doubt will be at all attractive to other clubs due to wages / being gash.

Danny has a hell of a job on his hands trying to unravel the mess left by some (one in particular) of his predecessors.

Disappointing really. He was one of the few (or indeed, the only one) to play better last season than the season previous.

I wonder how much we can realistically expect to get for him - presumably a seven-figure sum.

This is a good time to blatantly chuck this in...

On a stag do the other week got talking with a blonde lass, who when I told her where I was from she asked if I was a Blade. When I said yes she started talking about Stephen, Alan, Keef and about 10 others. She was apparently a friend of the family. Don't know if it was true or whether it has absolutely any relevance to this thread, but I thought I'd just share it.

Evans technically gifted?
You are yanking my chain there.
Wuss, nesh b'tard

Willo won’t get picked up as he has been too injury prone. Ched Evans one of our technically capable players? He's barely capable of wiping his own arse!
A striker who can't head the ball, has no heart or bollocks, is incapable of hitting the target bar fluke I'd have Hendo over Evans in a heartbeat any day.... That let alone the fact that he cost 3 fecking mill and is probably on the highest wages of all the players at the club... Im praying he gets sold every night

Bollocks to the Quinnsters - But we all want to know if you shagged her?

You might have Hendo over Evans "In a heartbeat".

Evans IS attracting transfer interest.

Hendo ....... ??????????

Seriously WHAT EXACTLY do you and others see in Henderson ?

Quick ? x
Good finisher ? x
Two good feet ? x
Good passer ? x
Good control ? x

His ENTIRE CV of footballing qualities appear to be the illusion that he somehow manages to hold up play well and creates space for others, is strong and battles well to achieve this and isn't bad in the air.

I have watched Henderson CLOSELY over the course of the last 3 years and he int that good even as a so called target man, never mind any of the key attributes (as above) that any decent striker will possess.

Stuck wi the lump mi thinks :(

Ched will move on and replicate what Billy has done.

Henderson will move on (Eventually) and become a figure of ridicule.

He does look particularly like an Irish leprechaun in that photo though :)

Squinny can look himself in the mirror and honestly answer "I've done the best I can for SUFC"

In that, he's in the minority. If you should leave Stephen, thanks for the graft.

REALLY?

It wasn't many months ago when people was asking how he got picked every match. I find it remarkable how people see things differently, esp how they see a player to better than he really is. Prob explains why most of us are not scouts.

Don't get me wrong Jacko, I'm not saying he's been a brilliant player. Indeed for significant periods of time he's lived down to the moniker bestowed on him by my esteemed RAPFA colleague, but his was the only towel that didn't get chucked in during the bleakness of Jan to March. Should he leave, that will be what I will remember most about him.

I didnt see any improvement in him, in fact thought his and others lack of progress contibuted to our demise

If he hasnt the stomach to fight to get us back , bye

Can't believe how may negative words are getting said about Quinny on here - absolutely sums up how much some have grown apathetic or even self-critical of all things SUFC...

If any one player deserves any credit what so ever for their performances last season its Quinn - don't get me wrong I have, prior to last season, been ultra critical of Quinny, not least because at times it was so fustrating to see a player with clear ability but not achieving his potential. However, last season he completely transformed not only mine, but many peoples opinion of him. Some may argue that he was simply the best of a bad bunch, but in reality i think he finally found his "role" and developed a footballing maturity last season.

People forget that Squinny is still quite a young footballer, and consistency and development (expecially for midfield players) tend to come in the mid-20's, exactly as we've seen with him.

Not only the technique aspect, but he was the ONLY player who i would consider did a proffessional job last year, and the ONLY player who played like he gave a damn, and similarly the ONE player who looked absolutely devestated after every game lost and as the inevitable relegation was confirmed. He was also one of only a few players to continuously have the balls to come and applaud the fans after every one of those games, whether the result was good or bad, and the first to come and show his appreciation to the Blades' support as we sang our hearts at the point of relegation.

He is one of only maybe 3 or 4 players (Morgs, Monty, Kozzy and him) who I think deep down, really hurt following last season, and didn't just say they were gutted when really they don't give too much thought to it other than hoping they still get to cash their oversized cheques at the end of each month.

Been at the club for nearly a decade now, and for all his downs and critism, the one thing I can say is he has always given 100% and when "on it", Quinny has always been one of the few too excite me with his quality and technique. Its easy to criticse people for backing players based on just thier effort (like we do with Monty for example - god love him but he's not in the same bracket as Quinn), but with Quinny we can all see (or those not completely looking for any reason to take a pop at the club or its players) he is much more than just effort, and should the call come from a club like Swansea, QPR, or whoever, then we can surely admit that he is obviously not a bad player after all.

We'll definitely miss him if and when he does leave, and for those lamenting him for only starting to play for the latter end of last season, can I ask...

If you want to criticise anyone for thier performance last season, surely its wiser to aim the fury at those who didn't "start playing" at ALL last season (aka Ched, Cresswell, Nos, Yeates et al) rather than the ONE player who actually did put in the effort?? And to say you "wouldn't want him next to me in the trenches" - i'd say quite the opposite, when all around him showed no sign of effort or even caring of the dire situation, quinn stood up and counted and, in Morgs absence, showed the only quality of leadership in the squad, by being an example to those failing around him of what we demand from our players, and what is needed when to going gets tough - much rather him in our trench, than the pitiful performances of Yeates and his neshing out of tackles and running blindly into players and showing absolutely no effort or care for this club...

Well done Quinny for your performances last season, the ONE and ONLY senior player who can take any deserved credit from last season, and that comes from someone who has slagged you to high heaven at times in the past, but i'm pleased to say you have proved me and many more wrong, and if/when you leave you should be afforded the same respect that we hold for all the other blades who have had the honour to play for this club of ours for so very long.

UTB!!

A player as small as him in the modern game needs to be far more skilful than he is, only that could make up for his stature. I thought he looked ok under warnock, gradually lost confidence since then, perking up a bit recently. Like monty he just doesn't score enough either.
If we can get a decent fee he has got to go.

I reckon he'll be massively missed.

One of the few players who put everything into every game last year. Looked like he genuinely cared.

Cant believe some of the crap written here sometimes. Player gives 9 years of his career and sees the club he is playing for going down the crapper. He wants to play as high up the scale as he can at the peak of his career. All some want to do is kick the crap out of him. He isn't the best but he doesn't owe us anything and if he goes it will be with good wishes from myself. Also, read what he has said. He would find it hard to turn a move to a better club down but will stay if that doesn't happen. No biggie from what I can see.
