That goal

Not really bothered about Villa, we could have been playing anybody, bad decisions go against all clubs, but then there are decisions which are so unbelievably bad they only affect us.

One thing I've said all along is that Sheffield United are the only club in world football that that would have happened to.

The number of mistakes that were made that put the ref and adjudicators into a position of not being able to give a decision was corrupt to put it mildly.

All well and good Villa having £100m in the bank but they don't have Jack Grealish the bloke who made Villa tick, lets see if that £100m improves their fortunes which were pretty dire without Jack in the team. As for Jack the life long Villa fan it just shows loyalty goes out of the window for a holdall full of cash every week not that he was exactly on poverty money at Villa ......................... the sad state of football.

Yeah just 19 years with the one club. Definitely no loyalty in football.

Come on. He could have left a few years back. Questioning his loyalty is a bit off. He wants to win trophies, as do all players. Ain't gonna win them at Villa (other than a shot at the league Cup). Diving cunt but a fantastic player and from the bits of interviews I've seen, a cracking lad as well. GLTTL

(Just wish my Mrs would stop fuckin swooning over him)

I love it when fans tell players to be loyal. It's a job. I don't still deliver Betterware books like I did when I was 12

Footballers earn obscene amounts of money. Grealish owes Villa nothing in my opinion.
Clubs let players deals expire but don't get grief for not having loyalty to players past their on field worth. They get transfer fees. I'll never understand feeling sorry for football clubs

"the sad state of football", I'd stretch that to society in general.

If it's possible to reopen past cases in British Law, to right a wrong, why not in this case?
The evidence stares one in the face, thanks DeaneandAgana, at #20.
Could it be there's summot dodgy about the F.A.?

They were gash, when he was out injured..

Look at Villa now 100 million in the bank and still in the Premier, if our goal against them was allowed then they go down . What a decision, fine margins eh.

If a team end up drawing 2-2 but in the 50th minutes a goal was unfairly chalked off due to a ref cock-uo.
The common logic is….”if the ref hadn’t blundered we‘d have won 3-2, so the ref has cost us 2 points”.

However this is a flawed logic because goals change games…some teams start sitting back losing momentum…losing teams push forward threatening goals but are then open to the counter attack…some teams gain confidence and go on to score more goals and the timing of a goal can be so important.

My point is……we’ll never know what effect the ghost goal really had….if that goal has been allowed…it might have given Villa a big kick up the backside and they come back to win. So weirdly that disallowed goal might have cost Villa 2 points and gained us an extra point,

The only scenario that I agree that a mistake directly effects the result of a match is if a ghost goal occurs in the last 2 or 3 minutes of a match.

I'm sure Bournemouth do.

Villa still had a lot to do and Bournemouth had all season to get some results. If you leave it to the back end of the season to try to save yourself, the margins are always going to be so fine that it can go wrong. As you say, anything could’ve happened, our goal might have spurred Villa on to win the game or it might have caused them to collapse, we’ll never know.
