Former Rangers & Brechin City youngster on trial with us apparently.

Would be for U23 squad.

Scottish youth international and spent time in Charlton & Kilmarnock’s youth setups.

Sheffield United have taken Harris O’Connor on trial following his departure from Rangers.

Sheffield United are casting an eye over the young defender, as per the Daily Record

O’Connor, who is 19-years-old, is currently a free agent after leaving Rangers at the end of last season.

The Daily Record say he is also a target for Stoke City and has spent time on trial with Premier League side Burnley this summer.

Sheffield United are now looking at him and are considering him for their Under-23s side for next season.

O’Connor has risen up through the academy at Rangers but left the Glasgow side when his contract expired at the end of June.

He must be good if he can force his way past some of the outstanding young centre backs that we have on our books.

Depends who goes out on loan this year. With Graham gone Ashton hall released and you’d assume at least one of lopata and Gordon going on loan if not both there will be quite a few centreback slots open in the 23’s this year.

^ but the rangers guy is of a similar age with similar experience, cannot see what he brings to the party unless deemed to be a better player

If everything goes to plan and all 3 pan out then in 2-3 years time we have a completely home grown back 3 at which point pats on the back all round. However, developments a tricky thing to predict no matter how highly we rate the prospect and chances are all 3 won’t pan out so taking another shot by bringing a well regarded youngster makes sense. Plus with Graham and hall leaving he won’t be blocking anyone’s path. Same could’ve been said about lopata last year we had Graham, Gordon and Gomis so there wasn’t a glaring need to bring in a player of the same age but we thought he was a good prospect and so far have been proved right.

Hopefully this guy gets back soon from injury:

Sheffield United are close to signing defender Harris O’Connor.

Sheffield United are on the verge of acquiring the centre-back on a free transfer, as per the Daily Record (live transfer blog, 11.08.21, 11.56).

O’Connor, who is 19-years-old, is available after being released by Rangers at the end of last season.

He has spent the past week or so on trial with the Blades and has seemingly done enough to earn a contract.
