Except it wasn't. It was to build on what they'd achieved previously. Not only did he not do that, he actually made them worse, and if the Pigs hadn't been deducted points, or if the EFL had managed to get a points sanction against Derby, they would have gone down.
He's made the club a laughing stock both on and off the pitch, he's injured one of their best young players, he only managed to keep them up through sheer luck and other things going their way and he's so far showing why good players don't always make good managers.
Granted, they didn't have great players there and there were things happening behind the scenes that he couldn't control - it wasn't all his fault. However, better managers have managed to have a better go at things than he's done this season. They're fucked with him in charge again, and if I was in charge at Man U I wouldn't be letting any youngsters go within ten miles of them.
