Where do you stop? Charging the obese, smokers, people who drink, drug addicts for their care too?
Well..........

Cigarette duty as a public health tool
Taxation is said to be a key policy weapon to deter cigarette smoking. Its success in doing so is evidenced by figures which show that the number of smokers has dropped from approximately 30% of the population in the year 2000, to under 15% in 2020. The increasing duty on cigarettes during that period is said to have supported this decline. In 2016, tobacco was said to be 27 per cent less affordable than it was in 2006.

She is a member of SAGE and the Communist Party. I don't see what difference being a member of the Communist Party makes to someone's ability to do science?
Behavioral psychologist isn't she? Not what I would personally regard as "doing science". Examining the bubbles in my lager at differing temperatures is "doing science". She shouldn't have any affect whatsoever on any government decisions regarding "the science".

There's only one group of people dictating and influencing peoples behaviour. And it isn't the people.

If I'm not misunderstood, large events will require proof of double vaccination. It'll mean many people who have decided against the jab won't be allowed in.
Does nobody else see the issue with excluding a group of people? If it was women it would be sexist. BAMEs racist

Unvaxxed? Perfectly fine.

It's as though all the equality stuff we've had for years counts for nowt.

Because for one group of people it's a choice (and one that potentially affects other people), and for the others it's not. Surely that should be obvious after about half a second's thought.

No issue. Being a nutter isn’t a protected characteristic

The rule of unvaxxed people testing within 48 hours of entry removed any discrimination.

If the NHS cannot handle a % of the unvaccinated population potentially catching covid and being hospitalised I can half understand, but there's a slight contradiction when 60% of vaccinated people are in hospitals as we speak.

It's the coercion and mandatory vaccination by stealth tactics that I find disheartening.

You think 60% of 37 million double jabbed people are in hospital as we speak?

I bet women and black people feel pretty daft now that you’ve pointed out they could just have chosen not to be women or black people

Worth noting this from Sky News as well:

Mr Zahawi promised that the plans would be subject to parliamentary scrutiny, and that there would be "appropriate" exemptions for people with a medical condition that means they cannot be vaccinated.

This is dangerous ground.

Not really my point though is it? Once again we find someone playing the poster rather than the post.

You reject a demograph of people you face all manner of criticism, and rightly so. You reject the unvaccinated and it's fine.

Still, pick on me rather than the point in hand.

I wonder what medical conditions stop people from having the jab? …and how did they come to find out what medical conditions wouldn’t be compatible with the jab for whatever reason?

This is dangerous ground.

Very dangerous!

Again, it doesn’t make any fucking sense. How can you not need to be tested even though you can spread it and catch it after being double jabbed? This more or less proves to me they’re trying to get herd immunity even though no fucker knows if that will even work, it couldn’t be any more riskier if they tried. If this isn’t the case then surely testing is the main thing people should be doing regardless of being vaccinated or not?

Just get the jab. Everything is fine if you get the jab. Just get it. Do it. It doesn't hurt. We can get back to normal....

It works though.

I’m not picking on you. I’m picking on the stupid straw man logical fallacy point that you’re trying to make. Trying and failing.

Protected characteristics are for people who are discriminated against for reasons that are outside of their control, and therefore not fair game: viz. ethnic background, age, sexual orientation, disability, etc. etc.

People cannot choose to do or not do something and then claim that by doing so they meet the criteria for being a protected characteristic.

Regardless of your view on the morality of ‘forcing’ people to conform to a behaviour by the threat of reducing their civil liberties - and we clearly have quite divergent views on that subject - you can’t conflate what’s happening with institutional racism or misogyny. If I can borrow a leaf from your book of ridiculous comparisons, that’s the argument that paedophiles make when they’re trying to legitimise their sexual preferences.

People can have objections to vaccinations on religious grounds.

That's discrimination based on faith.
