Tom McAlister showing us why he's the best keeper I ever saw for the Blades, ...just too young to see much of Hodgy. I seem to recall that A-hole Rodney Marsh was the culprit.

I was there the day Rodney Marsh ruined McAlister’s career. It looked like a genuine stamp on his leg. I’ve seen Marsh do this in other games and do lots of diving. He was a very very talented player, but a great cheat. It was so bad for McAllister that day, and as the ball ran free, Dennis Law pushed it in to the open net. Before the ball even got near the line, Law turned round and he was waving at the trainers and medics to run on the field. Mike Summerby threw up at the back of goal. I thought McAllister was the best I ever saw in the Blades goal. Such a sorry day.

Yes he did, and played really well, I went to that one and we beat a very good Oldham team who hadn't been beaten on that pitch for ions
The rallying line from DB, "Let's go to work boys!"
Webster on left of Deano. Had a shot from about 50 yards which missed by the same distance, but would still have been travelling if terracing hadn't got in the way.
Great Blades night that.

Taking up boxing I have been told.

This is what I suspected when that picture went viral of him boxing training. His legs were as thin as storks in comparison to his upper body. Never looked like someone building for a full throttle season in the championship.

So so sad… it’s even worse that it happened in a training game.

In hindsight these full on ’old school’ training games.., shin pad Thursday I believe they nicknamed them, that the previous regime had in place might have sounded macho and tough but not the wisest thing to have indulged in.

How often do career ending contact injuries happen in these training sessions though?

It's like calling for a ban on aviation cos planes crash once in a while
