A Global pandemic - lots of clubs don’t have a pot to piss in.

we are insulated a little bit by the tv money we get for the next few years compared to some in the championship but the game is not exactly a wash with money atm.

No point being angry about it. Our revenue is going to decrease by 50-60% compared to last year. We will still owe a tonne of money on berge / ramsdale / Brewster / mcburnie transfers payments I imagine. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise people thinking they can take players off our hands cheaper.

As with any transfer it depends on the player/ agent as much as anything. If ramsdale and berge make it clear they would like to leave. We arnt going to get top dollar for them and will probably do well to make a small profit / get what we paid back

the Prince isn’t a mega rich owner compared to lots so can’t afford a just absorb a relegation without some cloth cutting. I’m not say we should or he will sell but why offer 30million for our keeper when there’s a chance we accept 15-20m in a months time???

Sorry I can not agree with most of that some yes but mostly no .We will be the richest or in the top three clubs in the Championship next year maybe not as rich as we could be due to covid but covid has affected all sports clubs cash wise. Can not see the logic selling a player who has a Prem record for peanuts then having to pay 20 mill for a championship player .Other championship clubs get 20 plus mill for players who have never played in the prem but some think we should sell players who did ok in the prem on the cheap. Also I am not aware the players in question have said they want to leave and in Ramsdale case he said he wants to stay Berge said he is happy the way things are at the moment. You are right when you say our revenue is going to take a hit so lets get back to the promised land as soon as possible . The only way to do that is try and keep our top players just like the canaries did and the riches will be back. 6 mill for Boldock when others sell a untried championship full back for 20 mill plus is stupid. Try finding A goalie who is currently in the England squad for 18 million and apart from ours who is still a youngster ? You won't find one mate . Any goalie good enough to be in the squad would command a fee of at LEAST 30 million so why should ours be worth 18 million?

Exactly. Surely our efforts should be trying to raise any shortfall by offloading the players on the very outer edge of the squad like: Foderingham, Mousset, Lowe, Burke as opposed to players in our first xi...
