Best save by a Blade keeper I have seen

Didn’t the Liverpool kip give him a great ovation at the end? As said in another thread recently, he really was outstanding and with a bit of luck could have played regularly for England.
Generally I find recalling top saves much harder than great goals.
It’s more performances for me like Alan Kelly v the pigs in the semi. It could have been embarrassing.

Seem to remember Tracey pulling off a similar stop at West Ham in a cup tie.
Great on his day albeit I thought he went massively downhill towards the mid/late 90s when he piled a bit of weight on.

Henderson’s at Liverpool takes some beating.

I always remember an Alan Kelly save vs Barnsley, I think we drew 2-2 after being 2-0 down.

A header went over him and in a fraction of a second he managed to dive backwards, full stretch, and tip it over the bar. He had no right to save that one, it was incredible

I was at Anfield for that match, their kop was up and celebrating the goal, it was a magnificent save. Tracey epitomised the notion that you have to be a bit mad to be a keeper. I remember in the 3-1 win at Hillsborough he fell into their kop chasing a ball which ended with him and their fans swinging fists at each other. A few secs later there's footage of him walking towards their kop preparing to take a goal kick with the most sarcastic smirk you've ever seen on his face :p. He was a proper Bassett player.

I remember Kelly pulling of some incredible saves in a match away at Tranmere (I think we might have won after we were outplayed for most of the game) whilst I also remember Tracey pulling some sublime stops off in the 2nd half at home to Charlton in the FA Cup replay early 90s (won 3-1) after Utd were 3 nil up early doors and then thr team buggered off early to leave Tracey to pull off a goalkeeping masterclass all by himself. After save after incredible save he was finally beaten late on for their consolation. Both of these stick in my mind for incredible keepers performances.

No particular save stands out but Alan Kelly’s performance against the pigs in the Semi. It would have been a cricket score without his display.
