I think it's good to have the input of someone who will tell it like it is (instead of sugar coating it) and has experience in football, especially since the passing of Mr Dooley.

If Bassett is the best man to do this, I don't know, but he did speak a lot of sense when I last saw him.

I've said for a while that we've never replace Dooley, but I don't think Bassett is the right man for it, I think he's way out of touch (something that Dooley never seemed to be)

I would like Harry to be on the staff at the club next season.
He has a lot to offer with his knowledge and contacts.

Look at how many high profile ex pro's Harry Redknapp has with him at Spurs - ok different planet to us but shows that the job of guiding a successful football team in the pro game is not a one man job.

I wasn't in attendance but someone told me some of his opinions and I thought he was well out of order bearing in mind his role and our plight at the time to publicly mock half the team.

A lot of people said something similar about Dalgleish at L'pool after 12 years on the side line - why are you so quick to dismiss the potential contribution from DB? What nursing home is Sparky Hughes in? I am sure that Riise has all his own teeth.

Keep spouting blx Pinchy, as you have been pretty much all season. All you seem to do is criticise and not offer anything constructive with your well worn mantra about hoofing. Well, I have seen plenty of football being played by the Blades towards the end of the season where we have been creating lots of chances to score. Not like the drivel we were served up by Gary Speed. One or two chances in a game - pathetic.

If that's true then he wasn't wrong was he?
More than half of them are shit and Ched has no balls as well as no brain.
A private do is hardly a public announcement.

None of us really know how much of a help he's been behind the scenes. Could have took the pressure of Micky which enabled him to mastermind (I use the term in it's losest sense) the wins over Forest and Leeds. I suspect Micky will have casting vote on whether he stays or not.

His view is that any manager needs someone there to question his willingness to buy a player and the exec to throw said player a "too good to be true" contract.

Now we can all say that the manager shouldn't need it......but in our experience it looks to have some truth.

There may be a lot of truth in that. If memory serves me correctly, Dooley ceased to take an active part in the club after we got promoted. And it is since then that the way the club is run has come to resemble the shape of a pear.

I think he is on about the season before when we went from Division 3 to Division 2 and had Port Vale breathing down our necks late on in the season ...
