Harry said in an evening with him the other month that he'd like to stay and help Micky if needed next season.
I hope we get rid. Micky's a big boy and can do the job without him. Thanks Harry, but no thanks

I think it's good to have the input of someone who will tell it like it is (instead of sugar coating it) and has experience in football, especially since the passing of Mr Dooley.
If Bassett is the best man to do this, I don't know, but he did speak a lot of sense when I last saw him.

He's using the same master plan as he did the first time around:
First take us down to division 3
Buy a 'Brian Deane' in the summer
Storm the league and get promoted
Repeat the following season
If you listen to some, we already have the next Brian at the club....Jordan Slew
I would like Harry to be on the staff at the club next season.
He has a lot to offer with his knowledge and contacts.
Look at how many high profile ex pro's Harry Redknapp has with him at Spurs - ok different planet to us but shows that the job of guiding a successful football team in the pro game is not a one man job.

Harry's knowledge is pre-historic and his contacts live in nursing homes.
Was that the same do in which he slated most of the squad and said Ched had no brain?
I wasn't in attendance but someone told me some of his opinions and I thought he was well out of order bearing in mind his role and our plight at the time to publicly mock half the team.

He did indeed have a few frank views on a few of our players.
His view, and why he is at the club, is that since Dooley we have had no "football man" to question signings, contracts etc... that the managers have made.
His view is that any manager needs someone there to question his willingness to buy a player and the exec to throw said player a "too good to be true" contract.
Now we can all say that the manager shouldn't need it......but in our experience it looks to have some truth.
I don't think we stormed the league. Automatic promotion back to division 2 was on goal difference.
