McBurnie Video

Almost, it’s not because he’s got a ‘few quid’ but because he’s well known, therefore instantly recognisable which means there will be both personal and professional repercussions, far too severe to make it worth his while and he should know that.

But in principle, I’m not against the physical retribution, just it’s ill conceived and thoughtless execution.

Revenge is a dish, best served cold and all that.

I really don’t think you’ve thought that through. What if he leaves it a month, gives the kid - who knows who he is - a dig and the police become involved then?

Absolutely agree, i reckon McBurnie attacked him cos the truth hurts. Lets face it he is a shit c**t, 7 goals in 65 games or whatever it is. The only bit i disagreed with was the 'victim' saying the championship would suit him. Oli Mc might score a goal a game in league 2 but not above that.

I also bet Mcburnie is keeping his lawyer in a job! I hope he/she doesnt have to defend anyone else, there wouldnt be enough time.
And would you have balls to say that to his face or are you just another inadequate keyboard warrior hiding behind anonymity?

now everybody in town knows all they have to do is have a pop and they will get a reaction and be Twitter famous for a few hours.

he walks off and ignores it no ones going to do it because they aren’t going to get a anything from him.

walk off and have a laugh that you’ve got more money than that fucking idiot will ever see in his life. Think about how you’ve actived a dream and played in the Pl and helped your country qualify for an international tournament and then go back to your massive house in your expensive car and smile to yourself that that other guys got nowt better to do that hurl abuse at a innocent man on the street.
In theory great.
But if this isn’t just a one off, and happens more often, what you suggest is easier said than done.
A shame Ollie succumbed, a bigger shame that he didn’t smash the twat’s phone to smithereens.

He's been on here locking horns with me anyway.

I'm not proud, in fact I'm a bit disappointed that a label like 'McPub' can trigger him to be so reactive. Like I say, he represents the club, and is now lumped in with the other notorious individuals who have 'Sheffield United' after their name and the offence tagged on. By association, he, the club, and us, are all in on this.

He'll learn. People yelling on the street don't matter, especially when you're at the top. Think of the abuse referees, officials, board members and many in the public eye get round the clock. I'd fucking hate to be famous, well known or be in his position anyway. If there is any mitigation it comes as empathy, but he needs to disengage from those who simply aren't worth it (like me) and face the front. We don't matter when we are critical. We matter when we are cheering him banging in goals. And people like that Knaresborough gobshite matter less.

It’s a shame someone doesn’t out this “gobshite”.
Who knows, maybe if this ever gets to court - which I suspect is unlikely- unless there is more stuff out there.
I don’t understand where the second video came from. Is it the same group of lads? Why let it be seen, as it simply helps explain McBurnie’s reaction?
The one McBurnie squares up to in the first video, where the phone hits the floor, what happened to him?
Hospitalised, bruised, embarrassed, looking more stupid than ever, etc?
He should have taken a photo of his injuries. Then again ......?
Wow, this really does deserve all this reaction and coverage! It made the BBC news and god knows what else.

Typical group of yobs baiting a sports person power to Mc

Genuine question...are you allowed to film or take pictures of random people without their consent and plaster it all over the internet? I despise the whole "film your life and everyone else's" through a phone generation rather than actually living it. I don't really understand it and I'm glad I had the first 20 years of my life without it. I just wondered if there is any laws or legislation on it.

I'm pretty sure that you are not. I always tell the kids I teach that you can't. I could have just been talking bullshit though.

I'm surprised the stamping didn't break the phone terminally! I only dropped mine last year just as I was taking it out of my pocket and the impact damaged it that badly it wouldn't turn back on at all.

As you say he should've picked it back up and then dropped it through the nearest grate in the road or throw it full pelt at a wall.

But it's all coulda woulda shoulda in the heat of a heated moment.

I think that you can take photo's & films of anyone in a public place (save for a couple of exceptions) along as it doesn't amount to harassment.

Interesting discussion re. Richard Keogh this morning.

Debating whether he should have won the case considering he had responsibility for his behaviour that resulted in him being out injured for so long.

Made me wonder what the implications would have been had OM injured himself in this leading to a lengthy time out and missed matches.

Hypothetical I know, especially with the season ending.

Damn right. That's what I told the coppers when I was photographing squirrels in the bushes outside the 6th form girls college on sports day.
Any fool could see I'd stripped down to the Y fronts because of the heat that day.

You should've called their bluff "Arrest me officer, and let's see if it'll stand up in court!"
