Thanks for your years of loyalty and service to the club, But if you don't mind, i would like to politely ask you to buggar off and leave the club. (to Leeds hopefully, if you believe the rumours)

Cant pass, slow and every attack that goes near him breaks down. Mcallistair was on debut and absolutely showed him up, and showed him how a central midfielder should perform.

So every midfielder is the same then? If so, how have Makelele, Essien and Gattuso forged careers for themselves?

You need a balanced midfield.

Seriously??
Your putting those three in the same category as monty??

They have 'forged' a career by being quality. The ability to shoot pass, shoot, pace and have awareness. They dont miss 4 yard passes or scuff every shot they have!!! That's how.
Yes a balanced midfield is needed but a balance of some quality.

Totally agree blader!!!

******NICK MONTGOMERY GETTING RIPPED APART IN ANOTHER THREAD SHOCKER***********

We've won today so what better way than celebrating it by slagging off our long serving player.

He had a good game today anyway. Quinn was poor by his recent standards though.

If McCalister achieves half of what Monty has in his career, I'll be surprised.
Looked ok today and obviously a good goal.
Otherwise disappeared second half.
He showed enough to warrant keeping on board next season but he isn't a kid and it's very much 50:50 whether he's going to make it.

I was using it as an example of how you can't have two attack minded players in the middle, not trying to say Monty compares to Essien!

Let's try McAllister and Quinn in the middle at Reading and see how we go then?

Yes please, let's go there and attack, what have we got to lose? Even if we win it could be all over except for goal difference and I can't see us turning over 10 Goals over palace.

We've got nothing to lose now, but at any other time it would be suicide.

Month wasn't particularly bad I didnt think, apart from a hospital ball to get our man sent off (I think it was him) but not deserving of that comment. Agree with lenners (gasp) re mccallister, he looked decent but was absent second half. I liked him a lot first half though.

I think McAllister probably suffered for all his work in the heavy rain in the fist half and it took plenty out of him. Quinn was weaker than usual, but I think it was more down to the fact he had to play wide and he isn't a wide player. Monty did ok, but not sure he was any better than someone on half his wages and lacked a good touch with that backpass.

Have always said we can never move forward until Monty goes, an apology of a player, thankfully he is on the way out....oh and once again he was pitifully poor again today.

well said he's rub so if he does go to leeds there going but to lg 1

Well said Blader. Williamson and McAllister showed The Maestro how to play today. His single contribution was to give the opposition a penalty (a long established strength of his game) that ensured our young centre-half was dismissed, Bristol scored and our increasing dominance was undermined.

All on a days work for The Maestro.

Go and go now!

Top stuff Pinch, supurb post Blader. Joy to watch midfieilders getting forward with meaningful intent.

Warning to Leeds fans - do not go anyhwere near this bloke, He will ruin your currently progressive, forward looking side and turn it singlehandedly into a shambolic joke. The bloke ruins any cohesion because you cannot have a centre midfielder who is unable to trap, pass or shoot. Good luck with him and you have my deepest sympathy.

Xavi, Inesta ?

......Or Toure.
Not a dig at Monty but and holding player doesnt have to be totally limited, in fact they can usually distribute rather well.

A player who can just break up play but nothing else is still a passenger in my opinion, and I love 433 with a mdfield defensive shield.

by being able to pass 5 yards?? monty's second touch is always a tackle.. anyways i have it on good authority he has going at the end of the season.. relegation might not be so bad after all
