Ched and cresswell both out injured, Hendo is a carthorse, Bent is shite and according to the O/S Boggy has a deadleg....

Micky's talking of bringing youngsters in

So surely that means Slew will get a game...

Henderson plus one of Bogdanovic or Slew. Matty Lowton to play left wing and up front when Henderson gets sent off to complete the outfield set for the season.

If Slew plays, it should be with Henderson.

I know if I was a young little slat of a lad turning out against big experienced centre halves for the first time in my life - i'd rather have Darius Henderson by my side than Daniel Bogdanovic - regardless of who is the better technical footballer.

Theres a fair point well put. You want someone else to be the battering ram and you feed off him.

I know if I was a young little slat of a lad turning out then i'd prefer someone pretty reliable who isn't going to start a war

Slew first start and scores.

I am glad Slew has come into the team to show them how its done. He could of passed it to Hendo but rightly took his chance himself.

And there you have it. Start the lad and he scores. He has to play every game now till the end of the season. Hopefully he'll get a couple more goals and go into next season full of confidence.

Playing youngsters for the next few matches will royally fuck up the chances of winning the Cup. Pembo is already trying to save them for the Cup by not playing the strongest side in the League and along comes Micky when we're already relegated to put the mockers on a possible Cup triumph.

Does winning the youth cup give THAT much more sway in signing young players as making the final?

If Slew and Maguire can perform well within the first team then games under their belts benefits the club a lot more.

Surely youth players making the grade has more pull than actually winning the cup itself and like it or not Pembo has to accept that. In the same way Pearce had to hate losing U21 players to Capello - it's something you have to accept will happen.

Exactly - its all about the bigger picture. Whether we sell our talent or they develop in our own first team we will get either cash or good players.

Longer term success for the academy helps to recruit youngsters into our academy as they and their parents will see that our academy gets results.

In a mess of a season with an absolute shambles of a club going down, wouldn't it be more important to have a couple of chinks of light at the end of this abysmal tunnel than a Youth Cup win? The aim of our youth system is to produce players for the first team not a cup win at Youth level.

I'd tend to agree in normal cirumstances but letting Micky, Corky and Harry undo all the decent coaching they've had for the last 18 months would be a retrograde step. If Mcquire isn't hoofing the ball by the Reading game there maybe hope.

They are way they are because of more than 18 months of training, its been the long haul with them and the Academy coaches who have workes with them over the years all deserve praise.

Sort of but all coaching methods changed when Pembo took over, we won't see the real benefits of the academy for 3-4 years if Pembo is allowed to continue in charge.

Adams must start Slew for the remaining please dont put him on the bench strikers need to start.

Dont think we can kick our way out of division 1 or we will be mid table tops, Brighton played football and walked it!
